As far as I have seen from this type of format of reporting on Court TV, they always give one of the guests the role of advocating for the „other side“. She is paid or at least invited with the instruction to do that. It‘s not necessarily her true feelings and thoughts. The format of the Programm requires a debate. It is like a debate club.
I appreciate a spirited debate. However, she clearly did not read the court docs-half of what she said is innacurate based on those alone. The Cellebrite team had added to the cell data by then. The two dog attacks are in the document. And Karen did say much at all on the record, but Jen Mc Cabe sure did, with amazing accuracy.
Sadly she's a perfect example of how innocent people usually end up in prison. It's usually not done by people who go home and laugh maniacally about sending another innocent person to prison. It's nearly always done by people like her who just can't admit they might have been wrong. They'll do anything to protect their ego. They'll ignore or dismiss all the exculpatory evidence in the world. They'll hide evidence from the defense. They'll tell their DNA expert not to test for other DNA. They'll hide witnesses from the defense. Then they hide behind a thin veil of righteous indignation and virtue signaling. Well we had to do all that bad stuff to make sure that person faced "justice". She's the true face of injustice.

Jennifer was right tho, the facts are strong on this case, unless there are more the Read defence can put up, at this point I don't think they can even prove a cover up existed. If we go by the fact alone, the one we all know now, this is going to be end in a conviction., what Little said is "what if those fact is corrupted?" To which Jennifier already said, "If those corruption allegations are proven, then you need to look at what those corruption done to the fact." The question being, was there are corruption, and even if there is, does it alter the facts here. That's not a guarantee.

Do you know that the police chief of this town lives right across the street from where John O'Keefe's body was found? And he also had a ring camera next to his front door. But he said it didn't show anything., Sure. He also broke the law and violated a court order by having Karen's vehicle taken to the police station (instead of the police lab). And at the police station he and brian higgins were alone with Karen's vehicle for 45 minutes. And you'll never guess what? That entire area where her vehicle was is under surveillance cameras and that entire 45 minutes, magically disappeared from the surveillance tapes. And only the police chief had the ability to get into the surveillance cameras and alter them. And surveillance tapes from the library that showed Karen's vehicle driving home after dropping John off, also were deleted by the prosecution. Those tapes would have showed there was NO DAMAGE to her car. I honestly could believe this was an accident by Karen, but not after all of this. The police would not go to all this trouble if it was an accident or if she hit him on purpose.

So a fellow officer is found dead on his lawn, he does nothing, does not come outside, does not offer assistance, did not ask any questions?! There were others there at that party connected to canton PD somehow, and (I think) Brian Albert's brother is a Canton officer as well, which is why the case was transferred to State Police (do your own research obviously, but this is my understanding/ memory from my own research. what i do know is Brian Albert is sus af).

Ya, I've always found Jennifer to be absolutely on target, but I'm not sure in this case. Melanie has a good point about time stamps & google searches have to be used in the same way for every case. Walshe's google searches are being used as accurate data, so it should be the same in Karen's case...
If you look at the court documents and listen to all of the pre-trial hearings, Jennifer has been wrong through every step of this case... Maybe it has to do with the e-mails that came out through a FOIA request- e-mails between Jennkfer and the DA. Serious Question...IF she did it, WHY would the DA try to go for a Murder Charge? Wouldn't it have been an accident, and Involuntary Manslaughter would be a more fitting / "achievable" charge?
Probably going for a split verdict. On a weak case, juries are more likely to "compromise" on manslaughter, if they can acquit on murder. They aren't supposed to, but everyone knows that they do, so prosecutors overcharge. That being said, if you believe the prosecution's theory of the case, accident doesn't seem super likely. Who drives backwards at 24 MPH, in a snowstorm, while drunk?! Intentionally hitting him is one of the only "good" explanation for doing that.
Matt Johnson is a terrific reporter - old school. Props. Crazy = DA's office denying there's an investigation when the DA himself wrote to the FBI to ask that they transfer that very investigation to another state. It would be funny if justice wasn't in peril.

Honestly, I didn't know anything about this case, but after watching the trial, it genuinely looks like Karen is being framed by the police department, these cops/DA all seem shockingly corrupt. To me the only thing I see is the damage on her car is just not enough. I'm an ER surgeon, when people get hit by cars, they have damage to their body, broken ribs, damaged tibias, broken ankles, lacerations etc... And more importantly, I always see the car damage and in every trial I've been a part of, the cars are always badly damaged. Karen Read's car is simply not damaged enough, a broken tail light is nothing, and unfortunately Mr. O'keefe's body does not have the normal damage caused by cars running over them. I hope the truth comes out.

The “Hos long to die in cold” is far from the only reason why people believe she’s innocent. The defense hired a respected expert in this field though and the prosecution used a basic person on the case.
It sounds like even that search is not evidence bc the search was made after the body was found. The reason so many of these online people are so convinced is bc it's fun to be part of a movement. Lots of people also believe in Flat Earth, and they too make up reasons for their beliefs that can be debunked
That's not the only reason FYI. The pictures that were switched out at the crime scene tell a story as well. It's wise to not make blanket statements using words like "Never, only etc...". All it takes is one person for me to chime in and say something about the tail light cover and destroy your entire statement. Another thing, speak for yourself, and not for the "People" and save yourself from getting Ratio'd. For example, it's ok for you to say "The only reason I think she's not guilty is because....". That's acceptable, but speaking for all the people is pretty ignorant.

Sadly in our system once an innocent person has been framed and exonerated it's virtually impossible to later convict the real killers. Juries really don't like hearing "Well we're pretty sure we got the right guy this time." Not to mention the frame job is guaranteed reasonable doubt for the real killer's defense attorney to argue in court. Hey look at all this evidence the state itself gathered showing someone else committed the crime. It's impossible to overcome. Prosecutors don't even bother trying those cases. The only exception is when the real killer is already spending the rest of their life in prison and can gain some privileges through confessing. The sad reality nobody cares about in the rush for blood lust is when the courts get it wrong the real guilty person almost always goes free.

John was over 6 feet tall. In order for KR to have caused his death by hitting him in reverse, John would have to be on his knees, and it would have to be at a much higher speed of impact. Even that idea doesn't explain all his injuries, especially the K9 dog bites all over his arm. How does a car cause those injuries? It does not make any sense logically. Way to go, Mrs. Melanie. Honest question: Did Judge Cannone ever give a reason for denying the motions for continuance from both sides? Prosecution and Defense thought the federal case should conclude before the murder trial was held. Why did the judge disagree?
The two attorneys were very open minded. It seems as if they had weighed all of the evidence out there before forming their opinions. The former FBI agent though, is acting as if her opinion is irrefutable fact. Seeing that she wasn’t there, it’s incredibly off putting.

And now, 3 months later, we're 9 days into the trial (I'm watching it all) and the prosecution is terrible. All Lally has proven to me so far is that he can trot out 25 witnesses to corroborate a coordinated story which means nothing but hearsay to me. We're all waiting to see how he "proves" JO's injuries match her car and how any car can reach 24mph in reverse (really? Mine can't) for 60 ft, and she can see behind and in the dark of night. In this last year I watched the Lori Vallow trial, and most recently the Chad Daybell trial, the prosecutors, law enforcement, judge etc done an exemplary job, they showed the world American law enforcement and legal system at its very best. Four days ago I started binge watching the Karen Read trial, it is the polar opposite of the Vallow/Daybell trials in every way possible, from the investigators, to the prosecutors to the judge! Its a shambles, how it ever went to trial is mind boggling, the "investigators" are a complete joke, blood evidence in a neighbours plastic cups, then the cups put into a regular store shopping bag! The guy was found on a guys lawn, but at no time was the guy, or any of his family considered suspects. Its a catastrophe from start to finish, and its no surprise to me that Karen Read has many supporters, heres hoping the jury acquit her.
