I will wait until I die for a new Karnivool album. It's been 2 years since this point, and I want them to cook as long as they need. There is something so absolutely special about what they create that it is difficult to explain why they are one of my favorite bands of my lifetime.
Usually, the comments section of RU-vid is something to stay away from not. Not when Karnivool drop a new song though. Listening to the song and reading the comments is making me smile from the inside out.
@@Kahiro_Jiroenjiyeah I made the comment at the beginning of 2023. Easy to say 2025 or later more than halfway through 2024. We may not ever get a full album at this rate
John Stockman quite literally invented this tone, as he's the bass player behind the Dark Glass Alpha Omega distortion pedal a lot of bass players are using these days to get that one. That all came from John. :D
@TTTHEFINEPRINTTT YES! that bass tone! It's like Justin's (TOOL). The other day I took the strings off my Nathan East 5-string, bought a pack for 6-string bass and DIDN'T use the low. It now has almost that EXACT tone. haha wanna see me doing "SCHISM" with vocals using that? I recorded it for a student.

Seven years. Seven years I have waited for this moment and I am ELATED. There's no album I am anticipating more than Vool's! That bass tone should be illegal, genuinely can't get over how spectacular everything sounds. Oh and the song is SENSATIONAL.

I love Karnivool. Kinda sad that we can only hear the high pitched "All it takes you" part twice. It's my favourite part of the song! It tickles all the right spots for me.
Karnivool have gotten me through some pretty tough times. Struggles with addiction, grief, trauma, love, pain and loss. They've been a band I go back to at some of my lowest points and it helps remind me that the world has beauty, even in the tragedy. Now, when I'm feeling at one of my lowest points once again, this comes out. I came here straight from a Sisyphus 55 video about the "desire to simply not exist", which I resonate all too well with. I'm generally someone who really struggles to fully experience feelings, I repress them automatically most of the time, but now I'm sitting here sobbing and it's like a breakthrough, a release and all the pent up hopelessness is flowing out of me and I feel like I'm ready to try again, to pick all the pieces up and work towards better things. Pain, emptiness, oblivion; they're all part of life, but so are wonder, love and amazing experiences. It's worth it to just keep going, learn from everything you can while living in each moment, experiencing every bit of it.
Where there's life there's hope. Keep fighting for the love and beauty left in this world, even if you have to create it yourself. There's others like myself fighting with you. Been clean from heroin since 2018. God bless

I feel like this song does such a good job of including classic Themata grunge, Sound Awake depth and progressive base and Symmetry's lead guitar licks - perfectly brings the different album styles together imo. Cannot wait for this - missed the Sound Awake tour last year due to cancellation and dying to see these guys live again.
Agreed. As much as I love Asymmetry, and think it’s a masterpiece in its own right, nothing will ever beat sound awake. It’s quite possibly the greatest rock album of all time imo. The sound of this track is really reminiscent of that for me, and I do hope to hear more of that style on this album.
I'm now 100% sure that 1/3rd of Sound Awake, 1/3rd of Asymmetry and 1/3rd of Reanimation will make a standalone concept album. This really feels like it continues the journey of the Simple Boy...
Haven't even listened yet.... but oh my god they made new music?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!? THE most underrated/underappreciated band of all time IMO. Much love to everyone that's here.

I just discovered this band today (they got basically zero attention here in the U.S.) and now get to go through their entire back catalogue. Hooray for me.
How the fuck did I miss this? This is so god damn amazing, I love it. This song completely exceeded all my expectations and I can't wait for the full album. I guess I might just have to make the small pilgrimage and go to the show, which will be the first in my life. Welcome back, Karnivool; I've missed you!
