I can't stop coming back to this. This song is the most important song to my life. I can't put into words how much this song has carried me in my darkest times. Not that it makes me feel hope, but it makes me feel understood. which makes me feel less alone. this may literally be my favorite video ever uploaded on youtube. Karnivool. I fucking love you. When I was 16 (14 Years ago now), my friends convinced me to go see a band at the roundhouse in Sydney. I had never listened to this band before, but my friends were keen so we got to the venue early and secured front row spots. I had no idea what I was about to experience! They opened with this song, and from that moment I was forever changed. No other band has evoked such emotions like Karnivool does. Still 14 years on this song (particularly 9:15 onwards) gives me chills. The buildup of energy, the releases, the melodies, the raw emotion of the vocals, the absolute soundscape they manage to create is unmatched by any other prog band in my opinion.
I absolutely love this song and I'm coming back to this MV probably for the first time in a decade. But, in retrospect. Truly some facial hair choices happening here.

The whole album is not only a quintessence of everything I love - TOOL, Porcupine tree, Opeth, Riverside, Pink Floyd, Periphery, Animals As Leader - it's a new way of looking at how music should be made. It's amazing that the guys also love all the bands listed above and THIS is heard on the album, but at the same time there is no borrowing and repeating. Great job. I've been listening to this album almost every day for the last 2 years, which have been very challenging for me. And Karnivool saves me.

You are one of my favorite bands since I don't know when. I used to listen to Themata on a 2011 iPod. In my amateur writer moments, I wrote stories and your songs were the soundtrack. The come to Brazil meme is so overused that sometimes it doesn't sound like we really care. But one of my dreams is to see you live.
