I can't believe I'm a decade late discovering this band. I stayed up all night listening through the discography and repeating for days after. Each song took me in a strange direction I wasn't expecting while retaining a unified elegant flow. This one is heartbreakingly beautiful. I can't believe they've been lingering under the radar this long, really hope they stick with it and put out another 4 albums. I'm so in love.
This fucking song has been stuck on my head for well over a week now. Possibly one of their most inconspicuous at start yet soul crushingly beautiful as it unfolds song ever. Fucking A.
I keep staring at the sky I've been waiting for some time So out of touch So out of mind I can feel you there I won't lie And we're all just kids We're all good liars Good liars Please try to understand There is no great plan We have no idea What lies beyond our reach Try to understand There is no great plan We will cross the line With an open mind Show me what it is Hush my desires Set me on fire Please try to understand There is no great plan We have cast our eyes To the open skies Try to understand We've another plan We have crossed the line With an open mind We have crossed the line We have crossed the line You're new to me And I believe You have to be The one we need Soon you will see it when all Our reasons for trying are justified We'll hold the fate of the world The dearly departed They won't make a sound They won't make a sound You are the same as the salt blood Running in our veins Few have the heart of the brave Now will you run or stay? We hide away our vicious things Don't let them out Even the ones that we don't see Who are always there You are the salt of all You are the salt of the same blood running in our veins (running in our veins) Few have the heart of the brave Now, will you run or stay? (Will you run or stay?) We hide away our vicious things Don't let them out (don't let them out) Even the ones that we don't see Who are always there, (who are always there) there You're new to me And I believe You have to be The one we need Take me with you on this sky machine (Please try to understand, there is no great plan) I'm dying to know (We have cast our eyes to the open skies) Where you're from (try to understand) And what it is we seek (we've another plan, we have crossed the line with an open mind) Soon you will see it when all Our reasons for trying are justified We'll hold the fate of the world The dearly departed They won't make a sound They won't make a sound
I can't stop listening to this song. I love Karnivool - this is instantly one of my favorites not just of theirs, but ever... I can't wait until they tour North America again :)
I don't know why this track is so nastalgic when i didn't hear it till a few days ago on my Pandora station that didn't even include Karnivool. Needless to say, they are on repeat.
This song reminds me that my mom and dad are constantly with me even if I can't see or touch them, watching their loved ones from the other side. I miss and love them so much.
Don't want to bum you out, but the lyrics are pretty much the opposite. "Please try to understand, there is no great plan" "The dearly departed they won't make a sound"
Lucas Boyd I have a Facebook group for like-minded Vool lovers called "The Caudal Lure: A Fix of Karnivool"... I would love if you could come help me support these geniuses;)
I think this song is a call for help to the power above. The lyrics speak ominously of there being no great plan for us but we will cross the line & accept the truth when it's told to us. The narrator pleads to be taken away from everything in order to find a deeper purpose for existence/ being.
This is a perfect example of a talented act that is underrated , the values expressed in the brilliant lyrical content expressed is timeless ,alpha and omega being crowning achievement
funny story, I discovered Karnivool when this album came out, but enjoyed previous stuff more. until one evening, some two years later, when I went to sleep with this album playing. favorite album of theirs since.
I don't compare this album with the others, all are different and with his own personality, I like this band since PERSONA E.P and still lovin'g today =)
I hate not being able to reply to certain ones. I wish the controllers would stop messing with the good things. I love Bence's words and so agree, "after you hear the ending, you realize this is amasterpiece" Thanks to my Angel Warrior for sharing this masterpiece. Awesome.
Matthew Tosi I have a Facebook group for like-minded Vool lovers called "The Caudal Lure: A Fix of Karnivool"... I would love if you could come help me support these geniuses;)

This album has been bothering me for a while. I want to like it, but it's not so great. I've been here before with other bands. The same thing happened to me with Tool's Lateralus. It always seems to get better with every listen, but this one is the one. Some other songs on this album are good, I can't deny that, but this song is the one. I believe I read on here a week or so ago that his was this album's "Deadman". This quote is very extremely true. This is, by far, the best song on this album.
+clw8309 i only know Indukti :D at 4mins of Alpha Omega the guitar solo part is so like Indukti. not just for me. (Indukti has the same singer as Riverside - Mariusz Duda)
I've been in a search for months for songs even remotely like this - the guitar, drums, and lyrics are just so powerful, but I've yet to find something that comes close. Anyone have any recommendations of stuff that comes to this level of awesome, along this same vein? Obviously stuff like Tool is up there, with Perfect Circle and all that, but maybe some other bands that fewer people know about?
Nothing compares to Karnivool, especially tracks like this, but the closest comparison is the 'British Karnivool' Tesseract: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jJKsmaGtrjo.html
+casey Some newer comments that applies to, but for most old comments it was caused when RU-vid changed the comment system but messed it up slightly so you could only reply to the new ones. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed that in over two years but I'm sure there is some reason for it
What is a person before the view of whole world, but a speck of dust. Now what is a person before the Holy God who created the world? You are nothing, yet God found you worthy to die for. Without believing Jesus is God means you know not God. Sin brings death. the wages of sin are death the Word says. The only thing to fix our separation from God through sin is the blood of a sacrifice, and that sacrifice has to be perfect or the payment isn't permanent. since we are all born in sin, no one meets that standard. Clearly since the only one to meet God's standard is God, God goes Himself as Jesus. God became a man, Jesus Christ, and lived the sinless life we couldn't. He willingly took all the wrath of God that was met to be poured on us for all the evil that we are, and He bore it. He took the full force of God's punishment, becoming our sin and dying with it. Because a perfect sacrifice was the only way to pay a debt for a people as sinful as we are. Someone had to die, so he did it Himself. Cause He wanted us back for Himself. He became payment for a people who could not redeem themselves. Then He rose again, defeating death and the grave. That meant the redemption was guaranteed, For all who believe. We serve a living God who paid our debt. All you have to do to be declared innocent is Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. That His death was enough to pay the penalty for your sins and live a lifestyle of repentance. Which means to change one's mind. To turn away from sin, God makes you a new man in Christ, He is the one who regenerates your person to make you a New Creature. With a new heart and new mind who hates to do sin, and to displease God. When we do sin, which we all do, we will repent and ask God for His mercy and Grace to help us to never do it again.God is real, and whether you believe in Him or not, you will stand before Him. It comes down to you believe on Jesus or you die and go to hell. There's no way around it and no way to sugarcoat it for you. It's one or the other. You see, Jesus had to be God or nobody is saved.
Joe Tumulty Yeah, My favorite fantasy book is the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin. It's got simple cells crawling out of some soup and turning into fish and monkeys and people. It's got a lot of comedy in it, that's for sure. i've studied evolution and the big bang for years, so give me some proof that by random chance a so called simple cell crawls out of its soup and over millions of years turns into a monkey and eventually a human. Living cells come from pre-existing living cells. Living cells have never been observed to come from lifeless molecules even after thousands of attempts over a hundred years. If living cells cannot come from nonliving molecules, then how did the first living cells must have originated? Then they say we have like 99 percent genetic likeness to monkey, which its really not. They don't tell or show people the millions of differences in it. It's natural for the human body to have some molecular similarities to other living things, because they all are made up of the same molecules, they use the same water and atmosphere, and they all eat foods consisting of the same molecules. their metabolisms are the same, and so would be their genetic make-up. So they would be similar to one another. This isn't evidence that they evolved from a common source. It's common DESIGN. To give you an example, if three people were given the same exact materials to design and build a plane, you could have Three Completely Different Planes all built from the same material. Just the “Designs” were different. Doesn't mean they evolved from one another. That's just logical. There was a genetic analyses published in New Scientist that showed we have a 75% similarity between the DNA of nematode worms. This definitely doesn't show that there is only a 25% difference between man and worms. It's just common sense. It's a ridiculous theory that a man name Charles Darwin thought of, and he didn't even know if he believed it. The First Law of Thermodynamics says that Energy is not created by natural means. But, the universe exists as matter and energy. The scientific law tells us that it did not create itself by natural means. So what's that say, Its gotta be Supernatural.
I love that one! You should check out The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, it's even better! Being that you have enough time on your hands to give that detailed of an explanation in the comments section of a youtube video, you probably have plenty of time to read a new book! Enjoy :)
I follow your reasoning, but how do you come by the conclusion that only the Christian god is the answer to the creation of this world and life as we know it? I think you're an intelligent person and I gladly await what you have to say on this matter.
