I’ve done 1000 in 60 minutes without training for it. Was super sore so I think 1000 in 20 minutes is doable

Hell of a feat but if you trained all the time for it I think it’s pretty doable. I was was younger and working out all the time and in really good shape but wasn’t training for push ups

I did that math and 1000 push-ups in 20 minutes would be 50 push-ups per minute.. there’s no way this dude ever did this along with almost every other story Karo is telling about him lol Dude was an expert bullshitter and Karo bought into it all.

I'm glad he said Bruce did the MMA bc gene lebell likes to say he taught Bruce when he didn't he taught him movie stuff . I heard the seagal story isn't true of him shitting himself as much as I want it to be true. Genevlebell went with it. Like Gene said Bruce Lee was his student and he wasn't .Bruce was learning judo from Olympic judo guy and Jesse Glover as well gene lebell came from pro wrestling background so he always embellished a story .I love gene lebell though but he didn't start telling people he taught Bruce grappling till after he died I'm not saying they didn't exchange techniques but he mainly taught him how to fight in front of the camera bc that was when Bruce started doing green hornet

He's overrated. His biggest achievement in martial arts was winning a school boxing tournament in Hong Kong. People just thought he was God cause he was an actor in the very early days of western introduction of eastern martial arts and they didn't know what they were looking at...

The story is confirmed false. Gene Lebell’s assistant/publicist who was there said Gene put Seagal on the ground but didn’t choke him out. You can find the video the interview.

Segal tried to show him how to get out of a standing choke. Gene put it on and Segal backfisted him in the testicles so Gene pulled him backwards and threw him to the floor. ... That is what happened.

Exactly. I actually trained with Gene and Gokor when this happened and they told me a different version than this one. I loved Gene but he definitely told some tall tales lol

The Seagal story is true but the rest is laughable. Gene was a BS artist. 1000 push ups in 20 minutes lol. Karo not the brightest bulb and believing anything he was told.
