KarQ ranks Overwatch 2 Ultimates of Season 8 (Tier List) 

This is probably difficult to account for but what about ease of use? I fully agree Primal Rage is better than Dva Bomb, but Primal Rage is the most skill-demanding ult (maybe ability) in the entire game, so while it can be pretty impactful it's worthless if you can't juggle or aim your jumps well.

Rams ult is a tsunami, the only way to survive it is to be out of its range.

Mauga ult has to be best tank ult, it’s a sym wall and grav that allows him to keep shooting without reloading.

For average and below tiers it's the Junkrat tire that is crushing. You'll be in a very close game most of the time, hard fought and very sweaty, when a tire comes in and takes out three or four people at once. That's the difference in close matches. The somewhat and potentially impactful tiers have some brutal ultimates in them like Soldier, Junkrat, Genji, sometimes Mei, sometimes Reaper and D Va where when done right the fight is just over.

I feel like instead of a Tier list, this should've been put on a graph; with a "Power" axis and a "Reliability" axis. This might have made it easier to rate and differentiate stuff like Widow (high reliability, low power) vs Cassady (high power, low reliability). And ultimates with high power AND reliability (Ana) would've still been clear winners

Echos ult is not nearly that good anymore. I’d say she’s only able to get the duplicates ultimate like 20% of the time, maybe less (unless she duplicates hog or someone that can get a ton of ult charge really fast). Also she gets focused so hard when she uses it because the other team knows she’s about to use an ultimate. Most of the time her ultimate is only used for the extra life / get out of jail free.

I think captive sun is potentially impactful I never see more than one kill anymore

I'd argue sigma flux might be game changing. You can flux someone off point and on your own guarantee 1 or 2 squishy kills

Pulse bomb is niche right now because of how many things deny it. As soon as you stick a pulse it gets suzued, immorted, gripped, bubbled etc. And sure you force impactful abilities, but in the case of suzu or bubbles they are just up again in a few seconds.

Mauga turns Bob into a Caprisun and heals off of him. also i remember in season 1 where you could drop unlimited bastion ults in the time period and it STILL didnt feel OP

I find OW 2 characters quite well balanced, but ult are unbalanced as fuck they need to work on it

Another thing about rally is that it fixes your shield as well so that is something useful

Theoretically if you are using mines right you are dropping it on their head then pile driving so they cant get out. Easier said than done with all the mobility in the game

Valc hunting Widows is one of my favorite things to do as Mercy.

I think bastion is with the other DPS ultis because it's a big radius, often you can't run out, babtist lamp doesn't help, often it kills one or two people in my games ( silver- gold)

I hate how fast I recognized every single ultimate and who they belong to… not by their name, but by what the fk the characters say in their dominant language

My favorite thing about Beat is that it's a HUGE counter to Queen's ult. Like, without a Kiri you can't really counter it with Zen ult, for example. But the overhealth completely surpasses the anti

The thing i like about wrecking balls ult is that it can go from useless to game changing if used adequately, remember one comp game that whenever we were getting overtaken i just dropped minefields and all of them were impactful enough to win all those teamfights, i even got a 4k between those lol

Even as an ashe main, i perfectly agree with the B.O.B placement, but i will say, youll rarely put BOB out alone, you should put bob out in team fights to either waste cooldowns for the enemies, or if they ignore him, do a ton of dps, on top of viper and dynamite.

I love how KarQ performs the enemy ult voice line to remember what it's like to face that ult.

i think hog ult should've been higher since it can destroy or cancel out so many ults like tree, sym wall, mauga wall, blade, primal, rally, etc

Some of these ults or most of them are game changing if paired with the right abilities

Interesting video. The biggest thing that doesn't line up with my experience has to be the genji blade and rip tire. Blades in my games most of the time net 3+ kills on both teams and the tire almost always gets 2+. For me nothing else in the game comes close to the feelings of hopelessness created from hearing those voice lines and you might as well just jump off the map instantly. Honestly everything apart from those two feels fairly accurate even at my rank (gold & plat).

Another plus for annihilation, its great at zoning too

I honestly think the way the categories are called are messing up the overall ranking a lot. Like surely most ults are "potentially impactful", that's the point of an ult. I think I've never disagreed more with an overall ranking, these don't feel like they get seriously considered but are mostly ranked out of general memories of some random game from 6 years ago. Like how is Torb ult so high up, I think I've never seen it actually get a kill in my entire life outside of a combo, and it's much worse at crowded control than most sightline ults, and that include deadeye.

Karq doomfist has the weakest ult and it isn’t even close… the middle circle is currently bugged and it can completely no reg the 300 damage and only do outter ring damage…

illari ult is super fuckin counterable its projectile is still huge, which makes it not very good .

I think sigma ult should be game change since it can force everyone off the cart and make the win, stopping the cart reaching the end, when the timer is on overtime.

brig in emp feels so screwed now with the emp buff. cant heal team, literally just a melee practice range bot for 3 seconds with a similar hitbox too. also sym wall deserves to be in the top 2 tiers. the vertical placement where sym dances between it isn't as impactful as waiting for enemies to step up a bit and blocking off their backliners. It's probably the best dps ult if you ignore ult combos/mercy pockets

Maugas cagevis decent but its so easy to stop from getting any elimitations with good support and even a sombra. Or a good team to jump in and kill mauga or destrot his shield so its not that great.

As a tank main, I'd take Doomfist's ult over Ball's ult any day of the week. Especially on their respective heroes. Doom is already better, but Ball would still benefit from Doom's ult more than his own. Minefield is probably the worst Tank ult in the game right now. It's way too easy to avoid, escape from or just simply to destroy.

Given the useless morons I play with running back with kitsune rush still just feels like chucking any random ult into the abyss, but I do get what you're saying if your team has any competence

i dont get how low sym ult was placed, it feels like a free win in my games. its baseline is it can trade 1 for 1 with other ults, it farms fast, and its so hard to know how to play against.

Moira ult is the worst support ult in the game imo, If you want to do damage and heal at the same time lifeweaver tree is better for that as the nettles have better damage than moira ult, And it can be cancelled by loads of abilities, Sleep dart, Doom charge punch, Brig ult, I think sombra does don't remember though, Reinhardt charge, Sigma boulder, And the utility is barely there, Kiri ult makes the entire team faster and pump out more damage, Mercy ult makes the entire team stronger and makes her harder to hit, Zen ult has the best healing rate in the game, Ana makes a teamate stronger, Brig ult cancells tons of abilities while providing overhealth (Reaper ult, queen axe, queen ult, cassidy ult, sombra ult, moira ult to name a few) Already mentioned weaver ult, Baltiste is good for buffing team damage or heals, Illari ult is almost as bad but not as bad as moira as it's not cancelled as easily, Moira's ult damage is barely a concern to me if I'm on the enemy team and the healing isn't great, laslty it's pretty quick, like it runs out pretty quickly

I think Bob is Impactful. Extra body w/ Tank HP, point contest, consistent extra dps. He can be shut down with hack and sleep, but you can sleep winston and you can invalidate/eat grav. Your counter-argument was just counter play, but that's every ult.

Yeah I disagree from the jump. Maybe from a GMs perspective DVA bomb isn’t that good but Masters and lower a good bomb can win you team fights. Obviously if you aren’t sneaky enough with it you can just hide. It’s a game changing ult for sure

I would not call echo ult get out of jail. Ive often used it because i was dying, and then be bursted in my duplication before i even get to use an ability. Then im back to normal, low hp and no cooldowns. Did not get out of jail like that. Cannot disengage with it

I'd argue that pulse bomb is impactful or at the very least somewhat impactful bc it's not that hard to stick if you practice a bit (there are workshop codes where you can practice sticking it) and if you force out abilities like suzu, then your Ana can nade the enemy team without having to worry about the suzu. Even if you can't get eliminations as Tracer, she still gets value out of distracting the enemy team, and if you're able to distract a support or both of the enemy DPS, then your team will probably win the team fight and you can easily come back to clean up or help your team.

Bastion ult needs a rework

How is tranq not game changing? Talking about coming back to point with an ult up, if my zen has ult, it's like hell yea we got this! Purples can ruin it, but it's basically a get out of jail free card that you can share with your team for things like mauga ult, zarya ult, all the goodies. Plus it can be really oppressive if your team plays aggressively with it

Id argue about many things but you cant drop dragon-blade so low simply because it requires a nano. They literally made it so weak because if nano’d its a guaranteed win.

Torbs ult is the best zoning ult, it lasts longer than dragon, and even though it can be eaten or blocked, it again lasts in place

Hanzo's whole thing is he's supposed to be a silent assassin, yeah you can apply pressure with spam and make space with Dragonstrike, but more than 70% of the time you don't want to be seen, reason why out of all the dps Hanzo has the most silent footsteps, if you pop Dragon to get a kill at more than 8m away you're gonna fail, accept that is a high damage ult but incredibly slow, take all the factors in, did their Zen pop ult yet? Did their Kiri use cleanse? Dropping it from situational to niche shows the understanding people have on it, firing it from a blind spot or right behind them is the optimal use if you want kills or without a grav combo, it is a great space making tool for push though 😂

BoB is a friggin joke xD especially in this meta, A LOT of things can shut him down easily and the damage is not even that scary.

Tire should be much higher as it's one of the rare ult that always guarantees a kill if used well, if it's not super telegraphed you will actually not have the time to destroy it. Symm wall is an incredible ult, sure it may not be flashy but it basically unables your whole team while rendering the entire enemy team's pressure useless if used properly, it just completely throw off the pressure balance in a team fight. I'm honestly baffled that Torb ult is rated in anyway, I think I've never seen it ever confirm a kill in a serious setting. It's not even good at area denying since it doesn't cover enough terrain or last long enough to deny an area better than just controlling a sightline (and in that regard it doesn't even stand the comparison with widow's ult). It's in my opinion the worst ult in the game tied with tac visor, AKA the ult that does nothing if you are really good on soldier, but only does nothing for 6 sec.
