Correct on keeping positions that are close to the head and body. Since the Katana doesn’t have a big hand guard (just small circular guard), it offers no hand protection, so, need to keep hands close to body to prevent opponent from attacking hand and arm. Only extend arm when going for a thrust, cut or parry.
Why do people like "fight" scenes that dont look like fighting at all? This is some very cheap hollywood style choreography xd. Am I the only one who finds it really cringe?
I understand that fight doesnt have to be realistic to be well choreograpged. But this is none of the two. It looks like children playing with sticks. Not believeable, not immersive and definitely not "well choreographed"
