“The Winter Of Our Passing” is the third single to be taken from the band’s new album and is accompanied by this stunning animated video, created by the incredibly talented artist Costin Chioreanu of Twilight 13 Media (twilight13media.com/)
The song follows on from the album’s debut single “Lacquer”, and the upbeat “Behind The Blood” featuring Katatonia’s trademark screaming guitar solo and hugely memorable chorus.
Three years in the making, City Burials is another huge statement from the legendary band that are eleven albums into a career that spans three decades.

Not a fan of doom metal, but shifting of katatonia to prog rock made the band sound much better :/

I was a bigger fan than anybody out there, and I used to be a Katatonia zombie. Nobody was as big of a fan as I was, and I had all of your albums Katatonia. I lived and breathed Katatonia, and you never showed up at my birthday party. I waited all night listening to LFDGD, and TGCD, and you guys never came to eat my cake. We had Katatonia flavored ice cream with little chocolate chips shaped like Jonas. Why didn't you guys ever show up. You lied to me.

Probably the best song on the album wich is btw a little bit too proggy for my taste. I was so in love with discs like "tonights decision", "the great cold distance" or "night is the new day". I'm missing the emotional refrains a little bit. I cannot deny you guys KATATONIA are genius and a band has to develope their style somewhere. I learned to love you for something else. But noone can take that away from me, right? You rock on, guys.

Honestly Katatonias drummer is so underrated its maddening lol I wish he did more material for himself online. Some of their older albums had incredible riffs and grooves, even before other genres adapted it. His sense of time is great. One of the best bands live from what ive seen online and heard. Wish he did drum cams.

I love the groove and the feel of this absolute banger of a song! Been waiting for a new Katatonia album for too long. The production is crisp, clear and oh boy, the drums just stand out! Jonas sounds so young as if we're back in 2006. This should have been longer.
