Music is a therapy, and for me, the most successful of all therapies. I turn to this song on my worst days, plug in my earphones and drive out to my peace place. The music oozes the power to reinstate your faith in gratitude and I have never been able to live through this song with a dry eye. On the worst of my days, I feel irrelevant, pathetic, useless, insecure, extremely vulnerable, always on the edge, and many a times, a huge failure. And I was watching One Tree Hill as a distraction. That was the first time I heard this song. Season 5 Episode 18. Something moved in me and after 6 months of struggling with my mental state of mind, it finally got me to break down. I remember listening to nothing else for the next 3 months because, honestly, that's how long it took me to understand it. My worse days don't come from situations. It comes from how I react to them. How I react to them come from what I think of them. And what I think of them is nothing different than what I think of me. And it's when I think less of me, that it all starts spiralling down to a worse day. Hallelujah is a song that will make you feel above it all. It will show how truly irrelevant your thoughts are. It will make you feel how truly blessed you are to be right where you are, and how one bad day cannot define your entire life of all the work you have done on yourself. Today, for the first time, I could live through the song without shedding a tear, but feeling the power all the same. Music is a therapy. You don't have to believe it. You just have to let it play it's role. Sometimes it takes weeks. Sometimes days. Sometimes months. For me, it took 3 years for this song to truly help me move on. And most days, that's all we have. One song helping us deal one day at a time.
That is the exact version/ performance of Hallelujah that I've been searching for! She is a super force of nature. I've searched these videos And I've scoured the land, Finally I can now say hallelujah. She chose the exact 5 verses that speak to me. She delivered, in every moment. She captured my soul in every fall and lift.
Well I've heard there was a sacred chord David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya ? Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne, she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Oh baby I have been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor You know I used to live alone before I knew you And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well there was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me do you And remember when I moved in you The holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well maybe there is a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelu Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
This is a dangerous song to cover because everybody knows the original so well and many have people have covered it, but I think that Kate sings it so beautifully and somehow makes it her own!
your voice amazes me. I lost my best friend this year to a suicide and her and I would listen to your version of this song every night because it was the only one that ever made her feel better. She battled depression for a long time and unfortunately her disease got the better of her but, I know she's with the Lord now. I miss her every single day. I would love to come hear you live somewhere because Michelle and I always talked about following you and seeing you perform. You're beautiful and your talent is out of this world. You probably get thousands of texts and the chances of you seeing this one are slim to none but, I would love to see you live somewhere...I live in North Dakota lol
This is perhaps the best performance of this amazing song I have ever heard. Have been working in radio for over 40 years, why has radio not discovered this amazing ladies' music.
sûrement la plus belle version de cette magnifique chanson. A chaque fois que je l'écoute des émotions surgissent. c'est sans aucun doute ma chanson préférée
Hallelujah has been one of my favorite songs for a long time.... Mr Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Jon bon Jovi, many different artists have mastered it... However, this is the most Beautiful version I've ever heard. I even used it to make a slideshow for my cousin's funeral last week. thank you so much for making this beautiful cover!
This is a beautiful version. You might like an artist named Janet Devlin who sings this and other covers...she does a beautiful rendition of "Numb", "Jolene", "White Wedding". Great Irish singer.
When my sister got married, two of her friends played and sang this to the 80-odd people on the dinner. It's one of those magical moments which never seem to end: me, eating the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted and listening to this piece of music sang in such great a voice. Those five minutes seemed to last for hours and I wouldn't trade that particular moment for anything.
Even though numerous artist have sung 'Hallelujah'......but for some reason her voice 'just' plucks the strings of the heart on those high notes..............Simply AMAZING VOCALS......!!!
The point is not to have a good voice but use it in an original way. She uses the same vocal tricks that almost all singers, gives nothing personal and original to the interpretation of the song.
Kate you truly are a Voegele, flying above the desolate sides of music in this new era. A talent and beauty that is hard to match. From a fan just south in Youngstown Ohio
Saw a different rendition of this song elsewhere but I remembered hearing this version by Kate years ago. Can't believe it's over a decade old. Absolutely stunning.
It has so many meanings that people can interpret it with, that is what makes this song such an amazing piece of art. All art can be seen in so many ways, by so many people

This song cover is amazing, i can say that in my darkest moments this song has been there to comfort me, it truly resonates with me. IT's one of those songs that you need to go through the situation to understand it. Her voice gives a feeling of understanding and suffering but it's hauntingly beautiful.
Paper Crowns You are absolutely wrong. It was written by Leonard Cohan. Look it up. from Wikipedia: Cohen wrote around 80 draft verses for "Hallelujah", with one writing session at the Royalton Hotel in New York where he was reduced to sitting on the floor in his underwear, banging his head on the floor.[8] His original version, as recorded on his Various Positions album, contains several biblical references, most notably evoking the stories of Samson and traitorous Delilah from the Book of Judges as well as the adulterous King David and Bathsheba:[9] "she cut your hair" and "you saw her bathing on the roof, her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you".[7]
I already knew how long it took him to write it.There are various interviews where he talks about how ironic it was that it had become such a big hit with gospel groups and churches when it actually had nothing to do with religion. The use of the biblical references are strictly metaphorical and used to present the 'sacrifice' of love. When I say it has nothing to do with religion I mean the actual meaning of the song has zero to do with religion despite there being so many references. Someone made a point of saying, 'I'm atheist', as if believing in God was the only purpose for liking this song when in reality that couldn't be further from the truth.
mccow56 "I wanted to push the Hallelujah deep into the secular world, into the ordinary world," he once said. "The Hallelujah, the David's Hallelujah, was still a religious song. So I wanted to indicate that Hallelujah can come out of things that have nothing to do with religion."- Cohen
on peut dire les reprises les reprises...mais elle ajuste une trop belle voix juste une tuerie...en france avec ce qu'il vient de se passer c juste de circonstance ca pause...
