KK, we don’t mind women in Star Wars. We the fans do not like stories that portray men in such a consistent negative light and where only women are competent protagonists or antagonists. DEI makes for a very boring and self serving basis to hang a story on.

Oh, they love playing the race card, don't they? As if the show's failure is somehow tied to diversity. Guess what? Even if you made the entire cast straight, white, and whatever else checks their boxes, it would still be a dumpster fire. Why? Because the writing is abysmal, the acting is cringe-worthy, and the entire production reeks of incompetence. Enjoy the slow decline into bankruptcy. Just as Ubisoft is discovering at the moment. You'd better hope your modern audience turns up and buys 10,000 copies each of everything you're selling.

What we DO have problems with is clumsily forcing diversity into places it does not belong. We have problems with badly-written 'girl boss' characters. We have problems with bad stories, badly written, abusing and/or ignoring the established universe and Canon of the original movies. If you can't tell a good, compelling story within an existing framework, YOU are the problem, not the fans.

I very rarely post in comments on videos despite having this account since RU-vid was in its infancy. That being said, I want to express my gratitude to this channel for representing the fans of Star Wars. The moment I saw Luke sipping blue milk I totally detached from the new movies. I enjoyed some aspects of Rogue One, but it really took a huge chuck out of what I viewed as established cannon regarding Kyle Katarn being the agent responsible for acquiring the plans. The biggest mistake Disney made was not making movies about the established extended universe. Those stories are the meat and potatoes that kept fans sated until the release of episode one, and beyond that shaped the universe well ahead of the movies they chose to move forward with. KK needs to realize that female protagonists have been idolized and celebrated for a long time. Angelina Jolie as Lady Croft, Milla Jovovich in Fifth Element and the Resident Evil movies, Gina Davis in Long Kiss Goodnight, Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.. The list goes on. There have been many celebrated female actresses and directors. I’m starting to get the feeling that KK is grand standing because her ideas and concept of Star Wars are out of touch. I believe any gender capable of performing under pressure, and that their gender has 0 influence on their ability. I would like to see Star Wars return to its roots, and see George Lucas back at the helm. The Force is the force. Sorry, had to come back and edit this in because hearing KK claim the force is female showed just how out of touch she is.

The critics of KK have been overall pretty well behaved. I have read no truly toxic comments. None personal in nature. We think her product, decisions, influence, etc. suck and we say so. But none of it ugly in nature. Given how much the fan base cares about Star Wars, I am pleasantly surprised how most comments are performance related. Toxic is a word that should be reserved for ugly commentary, not performance opinions.
