I disagree. It’s a fair assessment that she’s just as good, but Phelps and Ledecky are very different swimmers.

I disagree too. Ledecky is more of a distance swimmer and have developed into middle distance swimmer as of now. Phelps is a more complete swimmer in the middle distances.

There is no need to be transphobic, as long as the athlete there shouldn't be anything wrong with trans contestants competing in the Olympics if they have earned it and are fair. "The new IOC guidelines require only that trans women declare their gender and not change that assertion for four years, as well as demonstrate a testosterone level of less than 10 nanomoles per litre for at least one year prior to competition and throughout the period of eligibility. Athletes who have transitioned from female to male can compete without restrictions" - ABC NETWORK If they identify as a female or male, and work within the guidelines than it is fair, it's not taking away from females if they are females. It's amazing that we as a society are at least progressing in inclusivity, and as a woman I am proud.
