Recently I was in Beijing. There were hardly any bicycles to be found. There were a few electrical rickshaws, but they certainly did not count up to a million, let alone 9 million. @katie_melua, can you change that too in your song? Oh and I think in Amsterdam there are 9 million bicycles. But then, that's a guess.
He wrote many of Katies songs, also together with her. But Mike Batt wrote more, like 'Bright Eyes' for Art Garfunkel and more. He is s great songwriter, a great composer, manager, conductor.... But he also seems to be a great terrible asshole if it comes to money. Relationship between his company Dramatico and Katie Melua got so terrible that was left broke in 2014 or so... Causing her into a trauma/depression. Not sure if she still works with Mike Batman.
I know the follow-up by Katie Melua said "from the edge of the observable universe" but her original song simply said from the edge and didn't claim anything about the observable edge. I would therefore state that she is wrong as the universe is supposed to be infinite but the criticism of her lyric is also wrong because she never referenced the observable edge.
To be fair, what else could we be 12 billion light years from? You're right that it's not absolutely wrong because strictly speaking we don't know what "the edge" might have meant, but, well, let me put it this way, with the available information, I predict that she did mean the edge of the observable universe.
