Sailing around the world in both of our opinions is better if experienced together, but living in a small space means that we have to make a conscious effort in stoking our own fires. Now this is true for all kinds of lifestyles and relationships, but the extreme highs and lows of this particular lifestyle amplify the need to keep ahold of our individuality. Costa Rica is a place of many things, one of which sparked an idea in Katy, yoga retreats. She found Nereus Retreats, a "not your average" yoga and wellness retreat center here in Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula. Nestled in the Costa Rican jungle with the beach a short walk away, this place spoke to her as soon as she arrived. This video is all about her experience there, and introduces you to the beautiful retreat space, and some of the wonderful people who make it all happen.

It’s pretty amazing how a short RU-vid video on what appears to be a very healthy yoga retreat can really bring out the haters! Katie, as a 68 year-old male, I am somewhat jealous of your ability to recognize your needs and to take care of yourself so that you are better prepared physically and mentally to interact with others in a healthy way. I don’t see your channel as just about sailing, instead I see it as a window into your lifestyle: a sharing of your experiences. That’s why I subscribe and watch. Keep up the great work!

Katy, I have shied away from going to a yoga retreat, because I would be embarrassed that I can not do all of those head stands, folding my body with my head between my legs, and etc. Also, because I am a very beginner, 65 years old sailor. Thank you ❤ for introducing us (RU-vidr/Patreon) to Nereus Retreats. Once I am free from all my obligations of being a care taker to my parents, I shall take you up on going there. I found the segment interesting and informative. Downside: I was disappointed that the two of you resorted to a “click-bait” approach to the episode title when she left for the retreat and, to a lesser extent, this episode. Your content is usually informative, fun, and revealing about your sailing lifestyle, which includes what you do when on land. Good episode, but dramatic teasers are not necessary to keep your viewers watching. Keep up the great work.

If you actually listened to what they are saying you would have known they had plans in Costa Rica and even last week the video said she was at a retreat for a week. It's wasn't a surprise in the least to anyone that actually listens to their content.

@@TexasbyStorm I was reacting to the “click bait” use in their episode title. Yes, I realize that a lot of RU-vidrs do that. I just don’t think it is necessary. I was also aware that this was a planned activity. The title just didn’t reflect that. Not a big deal.

Great work, guys! It is good that you are open-minded and can have multiple interests. You have both worked very hard to get where you are and have earned every bit of the success you are enjoying. Great video.....the last few yrs I've been wanting to try yoga ....and after 45 years of sailing, my 76 yr old bones started yoga 5 months ago .....also changed my diet to plant based ..... and now I feel great again!!! We all tend to get all caught up in our everyday life & routines and forget to "invest in myself" .... glad you have !

Our son was diagnosed with OCD at a young age. Unfortunately his therapist determined legal drugs for his escape. David just turned 40 and has found employment somewhat difficult. For these past years after a horrible divorce he has reached out to yoga as a grounding course. This along with a nutritionist he has found peace with his abilities and life in general. We found this episode very interesting and are so HAPPY that Kattie was able to attend this fine retreat.

I cannot get over the nasty stuff people say. I wonder if these haters say stuff like this to people they know in real life. What is really mind boggling is that NO ONE forces anyone to watch a RU-vid video. If you didn’t like it go watch something else! Actually, their RU-vid channel IS all about them. Though sailing is the common thread, their video posts are frequently about their adventures along the way. I don’t have a problem with the yoga diversion. It is all part of their story.

Seems like you think its all about you, since you're the one gabbing about how this is something you don't care about, as if their entire existence is to please you. 😂 if you watched last week Parker said THEY went to the yoga retreat for a week, which they did not record. Then he left Katie there for a week while he undocked the boat to save docking fees and so he could solo sail for a week because that is something he's always wanted to do. Now that you're all caught up perhaps it's easier to see how you made this all about you, you're free to get your own camera and your own sailboat and do whatever you want with it. Hope that makes you feel better about having to deal with one video discussing yoga.

……..as countless families and single mothers fight for food and a roof over their head on a daily basis. Really??? Given the state of society, am I the only one who gets angry at this kind of spoilt, self indulgent sh.t? After seventy-four years on this planet and all of the associated battles, I have a very different perspective….. for which I am extraordinarily grateful.

i haven't been able to touch my toes since aikido and jeet kune do back in my late 20's but that a different type of training, close but different. @@gmartin1726 I repeat: you have a very poor understanding of yoga, which is merely a meditative tool which has been embraced and modified by many religions, including Christianity. By your logic we shouldn’t celebrate Christmas or Easter, because they also have their roots in non-Christian religions.
