Hey friends. We are in the Las Perlas Islands, in the eastern Gulf of Panama.
Settling into cruising once again has been just wonderful and the hot topic of conversation has been about where we will go next, though it feels great to pump the brakes, and the beautiful beaches of the Pearl islands make slowing down after all the go go go, much easier. In fact it’s hard to be on the computer at all when they are constantly beckoning us from outside our windows. And so the bigger question of where in the Pacific Ocean will we go can wait, because for now the only thing we have to worry about is the shoreline to explore, critters to look at, and our diesel engine running a little hotter than usual. In fact, our new friends Becka and Zach aboard Teulu whom we just met have their own RU-vid channel and are sharing their own up and down experiences of this lifestyle (namely their recent engine issues). You never know what someone else is dealing with, and these stressful, sometimes potentially dangerous situations can take a toll on your state of mind, but our gratitude for all that we have and all that we are privileged enough to be doing is present with us on a daily basis. We are also grateful for all of you out there watching our videos. Thank you for being interested in our stories, and for being here with us wherever you may be. That being said, if you’re new here, hit that subscribe, and welcome to Sailing Seawind! ❤️

Parker, When I was a little girl (I am now 64), I volunteered to rescue( Siesta Key Bird Sanctuary) Birds that were tangled in fishing gear. The one I would helped the most were Pelicans. They are so cool. Happy Sailing! ⛵ P.S. I am now caught up!

The impeller was fine as it was still flexible and not hard. The belt was also in good condition and just needed tightening to stop the squealing. The ocean temperature can change the normal operating temperature. 5 degrees Fahrenheit is absolutely nothing.

Your channel is coming alive with absolutely outstanding cinematography, sound and editing. Fantastic hearing about your future "Buddy Boating" with Becka and Zach. Insurance in the bank having another to count on, those nights of sleeplessness will certainly disappear as your voyage west continues. We can't wait to hear the itinerary, North to Mexico awaiting a weather window. Thanks again, love the frolic on the beach!

Beautiful shots of the pelican! The whole video was great as always. The two of you are such genuinely nice people it's a joy to watch your adventures. I'm glad you got your engine concern sorted out. I've seen other people have issues with clogged strainers but a worn impeller makes sense as well. Your proactive approach to maintenance serves you well. I think my favorite line was, "of course I know what a pyramid workout is. It's when you climb a pyramid, and then climb back down." I hope Katy appreciates your humor like my wife does mine. All the best to you both!

Overheating might be junk in the thru-hull intake? Also after a belt replacement and the engine has run for a couple of hours recheck the belt it probably will need a tighten ? Very important if you want the belt to give you its full product life. Love your vids and how you can work and play .... keep smiling and thanks 😎

As subtle a temp change could just be the sea your sailing in now. Remembering the state of the bottom at haulout....if higher temps persist might be time to soak the tube stack in White vinegar. I periodically fill a 5gal bucket and draw it into the cooling circuit and let it set a day or two then run the engine to flush out.
