Break-even in terms of what? the business earning and repaying you the cost of the share?, The business making an operating income is different from the business paying you dividend. you will make a profit it the E in P/E grows at 30%, because your P has to follow the rising E to keep the P/E stable. Even if the P/e contracts insignificantly in comparison to growth of E, your P will stil keep pace and earn you a profit.
@@navneetagarwal9089 bro keep it simple. Repaying in terms ROI = 0, which means the amount i invest, how long would it just to earn it back it, through dividends & price appreciation. The higher PE you enter at, the longer the breakeven period
@@navneetagarwal9089 also there are inconsistencies in your thought process. Firstly dividends are a part of operating income as dividends are paid out of it. Secondly, you're assuming a part of growth has not already been factored into the PE, so even if the E grows, price doesn't move & PE contracts. Many things to consider but the main thing is how much should price is fair for growth

Sir, I am from belgharia, west bengal. I have a question. If reputed FIIs like Citigroup, morgan Stanley, societe general are buying any share, does it mean that company is good? I guess when they buy any share they do lot's of research before buying. I am not talking about following them blindly. But being a small investor, I don't have resources to do in-depth research about mid cap/small cap stocks. But if FIIs are buying any stock, can I assume that they did lot's of research and it's relatively safe to invest in that stock??
