This piece of commentary will forever be entrenched in SA rugby, so poetic, so eloquent, straight from the heart. You can feel Kaunda is bursting with immense pride. May he continue to rest in paradise, he gave us such joy over the mic through his words😢🕊️

Kaunda English translation: (I don't know how many who watch this clip are not South African and I know the translation won't do the emotional feel of the isiXhosa justice but at least you will know what he is saying, this translation is taken directly from Siya Kolisi's book Rise page 151) "The day is 16 June, the year 1991. On this day in Zwide township outside Port Elizabeth, the Kolisi family welcome the birth of their son. This baby will not be raised by his father or his mother. This baby will be raised by his grandmother and he is given the name Siyamthanda which means "we love him". Because, despite being born into great difficulty and poverty, he was loved a lot. It is during his youth that Siya meets Eric Songwiqi. It is Mr Songwiqi who tells the 11-year-old Siya: Young boy, you will play rugby because in the near future you will play for the Springboks". It is his mentor who thrusts him into rugby, and as the English saying goes "the rest is history". And right now that time has come. Siya is the first black player in history to captain the national team, right here in our rainbow nation. Rise up Zwide! Rise up Motherwell! Rise up Walmer! Rise up Kwazakele and New Brighton! Because this boy is yours, representing all of us. Siya is our grandson, our son, our nephew, our younger brother. He is Nicholas's father, Rachel's husband. He is Gwayi, Gqwashu, Gxiya, our leader. A cement truck with no reverse gear. Let the team's battle each other!!!" I will go on to say that I, South African seriously proudly, work alongside some of the best people I know. They are so keen on teaching me isiXhosa and I am just as keen on learning it. I love how the language encapsulates the feel of where Siya is from. It is an amazing language. I am proudly supportive of Siya, Kaunda, Lukhanyo, Makazole, and more. I read Siya's biography and it made me cry to think he lived not to far from me. I am so glad these guys got to play and I would love to meet them and say "You guys are deserving of respect". I remember in 2013 seeing Siya come on to the field for the Stormers to play in his first match, getting hugged by Eben Etzebeth and thinking he looks timid, quiet chap. Not so on the field, putting his everything into everything he did. I don't know what made me notice him but I never stopped watching him flying through the ranks and ascending to RWC. He and Mr Songwiqi and the African Bombers and Grey School and all the people who helped him particularly his mother Phakama and his self-sacrificing grandmother were so instrumental in helping him get to where he is now. I cry just thinking about it.

Still can't!! Came here after watching Siya stand up for Manie at the press conference after our win over Scotland in the pool game. This moment in time was the introduction of a great leader by a great South African poet. Brings out the onion cutting ninjas every time!
