I must admit that I still have a smile on my face and goosebumps when I see kauto star being paraded by ruby Walsh as the fantastic racehorse he was in front of the crowd after winning his fifth king George. It will be a long time before we see another as good as him.
His 2011 winter season is unreal, to have an awful Cheltenham come back win at Haydock then deliver at Kempton that old battered and bruised , just the epitemy of got a job to do
I love seeing these old races, but can't they be on a 'Racing TV Retro' channel? Obviously with Kauto it's going to be an old race, but it's not great to have the old and the new mixed up like this, sometimes a horse that is still running pops up, but in a race from a year ago, when you think they might have just run etc. Obviously this will likely fall on deaf ears, but at least I tried!
Ruby Walsh was completely indifferent, emotion wise, to the horses he rode......but look at him after the win, he gives the horse a big hug......tells you all you need to know.
He owned the horse and the family always said he would ride it, he is still a competent jockey but not in the same league as Ruby Walsh or any of the top 20 Jockeys. I think he for sure cost the horse 4 races that I can think of, he always had trouble finding a stride at pace in to a fence, brave jockey but the horse always was presented wrong and lost many lengths as a result. I am just glad I never put a dime on the horse, because he was at a disadvantage from the get go.
@@AuditingTheAbsurd well said mate 👍 like I lost count how many times he hit fences. I know they owned it but surely you gotta think if I can get a top rider in a big race will make all the difference. Ya I never backed him either 🙌
