Kauto Star produced a dominant performance in the second running of the Betfair Chase, coasting home under Ruby Walsh for a hugely-impressive victory for trainer Paul Nicholls. The star chaser would later go on to land the 'Betfair Million' with victory at Haydock being followed by successes at Kempton and Cheltenham.

Kauto star great horse amazing at times but there was always a mistake in him cost him at times specially against the best

Why does the commentator call him kato star and not kauto star?

He was “kayto star” until it was corrected about a year later by owner Clive Smith

There was quite a lot of confusion since people from the North or Ireland, like Ruby Walsh, would call him Kayto, while the people from the South would call him Korto, like Nicholls and Clive Smith. It´s just how people talk (I mean Aidan O'Brien still says "I tink" instead of "I think". At some point media wanted to be on the same page and they stuck to what the owner calls him.
