The first time I rode it I popped the clutch and it wheelied over on me, and then I was very nervous until my mom showed me how to use the clutch, and then I rode all day everyday. @@2vintage that wasn't all in the cylinder 🤣🤣🤣 it was in the crankcase! You had spun it over repeatedly (doing your usual incorrect compression test) that bike had a stuck float and drained the contents of the tank into the engine. Raw unburnt fuel won't stay in a good cylinder long! Nevermind one as bad as that one(no ring seal)

might I suggest 2 wifi cameras in the garage where you do your work just so if worst case happens someone will know what happened. glad you and home came out unhurt.

Was surprised to see all that gas stay in the cylinder and not end up in the bottom end. At least it turned out the way it did. You stayed calm and took care of business.

When it started puking oil and gas out of the case that was your sign to stop. You had the plug wire on the plug sparking… not good dude…. You need to learn how to properly check out a bike…. First sign of fuel that you can’t control…. Stop! Oh well… nice $450 dollar charcoal briquette! Too bad…. Watch some pros work on bikes buddy…. I’ve restored numerous bikes and have wrenched on bikes for 35 yrs…. Learn to properly inspect and work on a bike… safely.

here's a wrenching tip, whenever a basket case comes in with spray painted parts, just skip diagnostics and go straight for the tear down 🔧

I did the exact same thing with my 1986 KX80 when I was a kid, turned bike upside down and cranked it when it was flooded. I used my Mums good towels off the cloths line to put it out, got grounded for a week :)

Welcome to the club. If you havnt set something a light in the garage you havnt been working there long enough. Mine was a fully restored honda dax 70. Carb started leaking while it was running straight onto the spark plug.

Glad you are ok and you saved the house. That very reason is why I built a detached shop. Accidents happen sometime no matter how much we prepare. To quote Forest Gump, "it happens. what, shit? (Sometimes)"

Same here. I have a separate shop for this reason alone. I never work on anything flammable in my attached 3 car. I even make my wife keep the suv outside after a long trip just to cool down. I have a friend that had their boat burn their house down and he had terrible burns. Almost lost their lives.
