If you don't do track days, this isn't for you, at least not in India. If you're crazy about it, get it. I sat on that once and immediately knew that this isn't a bike that's good on Indian roads. The Ninja 1000 is a better choice as for our country roads I think ( as per the price tag). Or you can get the Z900 if you go with naked.

After much speculation I bought the Ninja 1000..being a sport tourer it is perfect for India. It has got the feel of a big bike with great style and comfort is top notch. Power ample...I drive it mostly on low power mode (70%/ 100 bhp) and still it feels too much. The max speed I have done is 140 as simply there is no road for these bikes.

Bike looks great but I wud always prefer ninja 1000. She has always been the best answer for the great power styling maneuerability....n the price is the biggest usp of this bike..

Very articulate review.👌🏽👍🏽👏🏽 This is probably the best starter/beginner super-sport on the planet. I hope they will cut down the engine to 600 CC from the current 636 CC and then compete with other brands in the 600 CC category. I currently own a 2019 Kawasaki Ninja 650ABS KRT Edition and ZX-6R is high on my list, in the not so distant future.

ZX-6R is by no means a starter bike. Especially not in India. Same story with R6, GSX600RR or any 4 cylinder super sports. It’s a false illusion of control which makes you over confident in pushing higher rpms. Considering how adrenaline driven your average 20 year old is. Yeah one pot hole is all it’ll take. Trust me I’d know, I learnt on an R6 lmao! Ninja 650 or z650 on the other hand are awesome as a 2nd bike, still wouldn’t give it as a first to anyone either. 300 is too much in itself in India for learning more in-depth riding, so many ways to kill yourself, I couldn’t get myself to trust someone who doesn’t know at least in theory everything there is about super sports.

i agree ....zx6r is the best supersport in india and we don't have roads to handle more power than this ...I've booked it ....and a full system akrapovic...both of these will cost me around 15 million rupees on road in chandigarh ...with 5 years insurance and road tax...

Talking of tucking in, Once I was at 130kmph nicely tucked in above the fuel tank, and then aa breaker arrived. I can tell you that magnesium is a better implant for the face :-p

Z series is for naked bikes , ZXs are track focused versions of same cc ninja's . Like ninja 650 is sports tourer and zx6r is more committed race focused bike , and zx6r got 4 cylinders compared to 2 cylinders of ninja 650.

Fact is, with electronics package nowadays available in 1000cc's to dial down power, traction control etc 600's don't make much sense.

That's the theory. But I find that 1000s have such a high ceiling, they're never really that satisfying at anything outside of a racetrack. Enjoyed riding this on our roads much more than any 1000 I've met yet.

Bikers don't work on sense, but on emotions. Its a personal opinion but if you love this bike and is confident you will love it even after a few years, you should buy it. Since you already own a ninja, you can look into other category motorbikes like scramblers, advs or cruisers also.

The 650R is probably the more sensible choice especially when considering Indian riding conditions.. supersports like the ZX6R are a pain to ride everyday.. but then they’re more exciting as well!
