Went on a group ride with a bunch of sport bikes including a Kawasaki H2. It was nice of them not to leave me behind lol. Bike has Ivans Tune, Cobra TriOval Exhaust and K&N Air Filter.
First off, I’m sure your bike goes faster. I’m a big guy and was carrying a bunch of tools for working on a car. This was just for fun during a group ride with much faster bikes than I have lol.
@@armyguyz00 for sure. looks like im going to have to trim it no matter. what i do. ive been considering different handlebars as the current ones i dont find that comfortable.
If you're looking for "More Power" I have a tip for you. Your intake port is split in half for the PAS system. Running a tune disables this system and you no longer need that wall in there. Remove the heads or buy a good used set and have it machined out. This does a few things, it smooths out the air flow going into the motor as well as allowing CFM's into the motor, and lets you take full advantage of a big air kit . HUGE DIFFERENCE.
I'm thinking of buying a touring bike. I really like the Vaquero style but had no idea that they could be that fast while being comfy. 💯👍👍 love the video.
All touring bikes are "fast". Not bike fast but faster than a car. My voyager holds 80 very comfortably. You dont really wring it out till you attempt to hold a steady speed of 90+
Thanks for watching. I usually ain’t going over 85mph. But I’ll take reliability over speed. Have put 35,000 miles on this bike with only minor maintenance.
Having ridden a 79' KZ1000 ST for the most part of the 16yrs I've been riding, the Vaquero's not bad given it's a bagger. You're not going to handle like a sport bike, I've already dragged my foot boards a couple of times that my KZ would've had no problem. The KZ's 100's of lbs lighter w/more HP. I'm tempted to do the tune, but I'm in no hurry. May even get the KZ back on the road to get "stupid", bought the bagger as a "cruiser" for my wife to ride on the back. She didn't like me speed shifting on the KZ. 😁
I agree 100%, I love my Vaquero because it’s so comfortable to ride long distance. It is fun every once and a while to pretend it’s a sport bike tho lololol
@@armyguyz00 I was riding to work at night and they were resurfacing Rte 101 w/cheesegrater pavement, the Vaquero handled it effortlessly. I was totally impressed w/that alone having ridden 2 79' KZ1000 ST's and a 79' GL1000 on similar pavement. Barely moved and didn't telescope my spine going over the bridge seams. Very happy all things considered. Hoping to go to Laconia this year for the 100th Anniversary, work permitting.
I have Ivan's tune, same exhaust, Roaring Toys Straight Eight BAK. I too am a fat guy. I can get to a tich over 125 on the speedo. I figure it's 10% high or so? Anyway.... practically the same top speed with Ivan's tune. I mean, it only dynos at about 91 hp with that setup so can't expect miracles. 10000% runs better and gets there faster though
Under what circumstances would you need to go 100mph+? My GoldWing certainly can exceed that range, but I haven’t had a need or desire to ride like that. Just curious more than anything. To each his own.
Sometimes it’s fun, usually I run 80-90ish. On this road there is usually no traffic and you have lots of visibility. Doesn’t hurt anybody to see how fast a bike will go. Especially with a aftermarket tune.
Yes Ivans flash makes this bike very nice. I have a 2011 Vulcan Vaquero and I am switching from dual exhaust to two into one. I hear it gives it a boost so I'm all about the gains.
@@blacqueone1976 I run cobra tri-ovals slip on. I bought them off eBay used for a couple hundred. Love them. Not to loud at high rpm but growl down low
Question: which brand is your cup holder. I own a Voyager. Do you recommand it. Second question: what are the most significant advantages of Ivan’s tuning? Thanks.
Ciro 3D bigass cup holder, I very much recommend it. I have used it for 3 years and love it. Holds drinks, sunglasses, ez pass, gloves. I think it’s worth having. I did a video on the mount if you decide to get it. 10/10 Ivan’s tuning is supposed to lower temps and tune out all the backfiring. I bought the bike tuned so I can say exactly different but it runs great and doesn’t backfire a lot with cobra exhaust
Hello. I've found that using my phone with Google maps as a GPS that their speed determination is off. So, I say you were going faster than that. Me doing 80, (speedometer) Google maps says 73. My stock 2012 Vaquero kicks out at 120. I'm hoping Ivans magic will increase that some for me.
Ivan’s tune is great for everyday riding. As far as the speedometer goes usually the Japanese bikes have a percent error in Speed. I have changed the rear tire size so it’s more accurate than stock but I think the GPS is most accurate. Thanks for watching
@@armyguyz00 Didn't know that about the speedometer being off. Appreciate the info. If you don't mind me asking, what tire did you go to to close the gap some to get it more accurate? Thanks.
Speedometer is showing faster speeds than the bike is going, at 85mph it’s only doing 80, at 100 it’s around 90. Unless you get a bigger tire in the rear to fix the gear displacement.
I’m not sure. It came tuned when I bought it. It does run very smooth. Haven’t dyno it so don’t know hp. It not a race bike for me, just a comfortable long distance bike
It is a MRA X-screen Tour. It is my favorite thing I’ve done to the bike. It’s super nice to be able to block all of the wind on longboat highway rides but be able to get full experience with it down. I broke 2 of the cheap Amazon/EBay fakes before I ordered the genuine MRA. Haven’t had an issue in 5,000 miles, and I adjust it all the time
120 on the dash gauge or on a GPS? The speedometer on these bikes is off. Either way nothing wrong with my bike. I’m a big guy and had a bunch of tools for fixing a car that weighed the bike down. Lol I don’t need to be running 110+ that often, this was just messing around one day.
@@armyguyz00 absolutely I've raced big bores and turbos for 30 years and I actually got this to slow down. But every once in awhile a harley guy wants to run and these bikes like all are bulletproof
@@TheMarky26 if you bikes factory's always make some that run harder then others I got a good one and riding skills help to in the 1320ft. Aka quartermile all I have done is a gutted converter custom 2 into 1 made by me better plugs and kn filter that's it I would like the reprogram for the temp guage as its suppose to take some heat away
@@armyguyz00 since youre clearly too stupid to understand the difference between questioning and bragging ill explain, i was questioning why a bigger newer engine with an ecu flash could only muster 2 mph higher top speed.
