Kawasaki "So Far So Fast" video features the 1973 24 hour endurance record on the Kawasaki Z1 at Daytona. Features rider Yvon Duhamel. This is part 2 of 2.
This is one segment from the restored video player " Kawasaki Good Times Theatre". The Good Times Theatre video players were used at Kawasaki dealerships in the 1970's for customer viewing on the showrooms.
This restored video features great Kawasaki moments from the mid to late 1970's. Audio quality on the restored video is fair, but clearly understandable. This is a great piece of Motorcycle History. Hope you enjoy it.

Great to see the legacy these bikes had. I own an 80 KZ1000 LTD and I enjoy seeing my friends responses when they see that my "cruiser" can keep up with their sportbikes :P

The 1972 and 1973 had larger carbs than even the 1000cc bikes, they made more HP than any year of the Z bikes. I had a 1972 back in the day with Yoshimura pipes and tons of other mods. It was terrifying to ride.......i saw well over 150 on two lane back roads in the middle of the night back in 1974.I was young and stupid. 0-60 in well under 3 seconds, had to run road race tires on the street.

Yes, I agree modern bikes would be superior in every type of test, - except for 1 STYLE. In which case the KWAKA 9 wins hands down. They were a beautiful bike with plenty of power. I sure do miss mine!

my dad owned a 1979 KM100 that was yellow when he was 15. The motor burned up and some old guy sold him a 1973 Z1900 with blue flake paint, and it was raked out... he said he kept in in his livingroom one winter. He had a friend that begged him and begged him to ride it. When my dad finally broke down and let him ride it, He to 10 minutes to go around the block and it came back being pushed up the street with a locked back wheel and a bent frame...

Randy Davis, Jeff Shetler Randy Hall can all be seen in the video, those shaking hands in front of Duhamel at the end is Davis (long brimmed hat) and Shetler (curly hair and glasses).

So can Bryon Farnsworth. Techie Note!!!! The 1973, '74, and '75 models ALL came with 28mm Mikuni carbs. They went down to 26mm in '76 and later

well comfort as well... these modern sports seem tiny, okay if you are small or average size but I couldn't get on with them for long distance. Modern bikes are also too easy to cruise at stupid speeds which can either kill you or bye bye licence, I certainly don't miss the braking tyres and lighting though! :-)

bullshit. modern bikes would kick any older bikes ass in every type of test. they weigh well over 100 poundsmore and everything on them is out dated. dont get me wrong, they are very awesome bikes, but theres a reson they dont make bikes that way anymore

You're right. However, I rode my '75 Z1 to California and back TWICE-2 consecutive years. Cant imagine doing that on a ZX anything, or GSX anything, either......

i have a 75 model 900 and please tell me why no other bike in history has broken as many records as the 900 he said 52 records and if you go to 1979 when the kaw kicked vikki farrs as and broke the 8 second mark in the quarter mile you can make it 53
