I rode a bored -out turbocharged KZ 1300 years ago...its was an EXPERIENCE I'll never forget...the SOUND and POWER of that bike was incredible!...nothing really like it before or since (even though I did go over 200 mph on a modified 99 Busa!) Being close to 70 now I've slowed up quite a bit and am now ridin a 1977 KZ650 with a 4-1 Kerker header....goin back to the beginning I guess...(but its still FUN!) cheers, Mike.
Cor! This takes me back to when I was a mere whipper-snapper. I was nineteen and awaiting collection for a date. He picked me up on one of these. Shit off a shovel springs to mind. Nice memories too.

Sublime musique que ce 6 cylindres, par contre les freins doivent connaitre l' enfer lol. Bravo a ces passionnés a voir les photos je suis de leur génération 1300 Kawa, 1000 R 350 rdlc 500xt etc etc . Pour ce qui est de l' autocollant KOOL, ils le distribuaient a l' entrée du circuit Paul Ricard pour le Bol ' Or il était parfait pour aller sur la plaque d'immatriculation .

That sound to me is how Beethoven sounds to classical music lovers. And you handle it so well sir. I had one back in 1984 and I’m thinking of finding a one again. Great video.
That guy has balls! I pushed a used trade in, one of those quite hard in the late 80's when offered a free test drive, by a friend and they are long, heavy and not a great bike if ridden hard! On bends, they want to go straight and let you know it! (See how he slows way down before the apex. Very sensible rider. No trail braking on this monster!). After the ride I told my friend, (the dealer) they would make a great bike with a sidecar, towing an Airstream. He concurred! It was however a major hit, engineering wise with gobs of torque. I loved every minute. Great video. Thanks!

Its good to see a late 70s superbike (with a touring bias) out there hauling ass , performance is definately not bad for a 300kg bike , add a rider thats 400kgs being chucked around like that , that Z1300 was always under rated , I had 2 in my life , in the early 1983/84 , one was a stock bike with Kerker 6 into 2s , the other was bored out to a 1500 and turboed for good measure . I still love the sound of them and getting another is on my bucket list , a stock one .

Yes as people have commented lovely sound.. There's something about a 3 cylinder or 6 that gets you...especially a 6...bit like a howle. Remends me of the vulcan bomber ..👍👍👍👍

Bike makers build small 20,000 rpm motors that hold together. Never underestimate the big four.makers abilities. My old 600 ninja at 11,000rpm could run forever at redline. Watch endurance racing hr after hr of redline runs. Sweet

Le son d'un six en ligne. Un "je ne sais pas vraiment trop quoi". J'adore les V8 - surtout ceux qui en crache! - mais un six en ligne - phasé à 120 degrés. Nécessairement. C'est ça.
bonjour .un régal pour les oreilles ,ce six kawa . Put.... il a l'air d'envoyer quand même ; vu la tenue de route de l'époque ..on se souvient qu'avec ce genre de brelle ;mettre à fond était presque de l'inconscience .; mais là ;belle maitrise et cerveau pas débranché ;vaut mieux .j'ai fait de la cote dans les années 1985.avec un suz 1100 gs et c'était une armoire normande avec des pneus Pirelli Phantom ; bravo au pilote et aux mecanos préparateur . Merci. Oui 30 ans de pilotage dont 20 sur circuit, et une préparation as-hoc . Va voir les films z1300 SPA qui sont encore plus impressionnants au niveau vitesse. Je tourne aussi vite que les 1000 Z prépares … 👍🏻
Merci pour ce beau moment de circuit, quel jolie vidéo ! Y a des freinages d'anthologie dans cette vidéo. Le 1300 Z à vraiment eu une préparation qui métamorphose cette grosse mémère c'est Incroyable. Elle pèse combien préparé comme ça on est bien en dessous des 300 kilos d'usine ? Bravo à tous !
