Hi friends, this is the first day of the Kaweka traverse, the heat spread us a bit thin. Please add your comments, likes & follows as it all helps put the story in front of others. 🙏
The heat may have gotten to Kurt, but given that you’re part man, part mountain goat I'm not surprised at your pace. I did the traverse 20 plus years ago. Took me 8 days through spring snow, rain etc. I'm looking forward to seeing the Harkness Valley. It'll bring back memories of my favorite part of the trail.
The heat got to me as well, it was punishing, but I have the ability to just keep going though it slowed us right down which is why day two was 13hrs. Wow so at 25 you were into tough hikes too 😉 Harkness valley was actually my least favourite, 32 river crossings. Thanks for watching flyboy
Oh yes, when I saw that, I just couldn’t bring myself to recompile, add all the info tags and rebuild the post again. Well spotted and thanks for watching to the end 😘
Great job as always, my friend. Loved the looped falls into the river! 😅 Just a reminder...YOU didn't break me... dehydration, steep climbs, and carrying too much post-Christmas weight in my "front pack" broke me. You're too kind to have broken me. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks buddy, I know that, it’s a line Pete used after our trip together when he too pulled the pin but it does add some drama. Im frustrated by the lack of stabilisation and poor audio of the Hero 7 but it’s more convenient than the camera, need to replace the 7. Bit by bit we get better, next one out in a few weeks, look forward to your RTM day-2
I'm looking at the Kaimanawas and Kawekas once I've finished what I want to do in the Kaimai's, so you're giving me good ideas. Awesome to get above the tree line too. Looking forward to part 2 !
The area round Kuripapango is so awesome, not gone any further into the Kaweka ranges besides the hot pools on the north end. It looks so steep and loose, interesting terain. Can't wait to see how the next video ends up, and follow along on the topomaps. Good video as always, the content is appreciated.
Looks like really good country and nice weather, Dave. I took a few Radixs along with me in my. Christmas trip, too. I did like them but found that they started to taste the same.
Thanks for popping in, I missed you being the first to comment. I found Radix to be tasty, personally I’m about fuel on multi-days so don’t give much value to decadence.
