Casual fans don't appreciate that Pop genuinely loves his players, even if things don't work out on his team. Telling an entire arena to stop booing his friend is an expression of that love.

@@user-zs4ym8vx7n ok user-zs4ym8vx7n, not a bot at all. In case you're not - Pop commented after the game that you do not poke the bear as he was trying to not ignite Kawhi in late 4th and also it is just not classy to be booing a former Finals MVP of your team however the relationship ended.

As a Spurs fan it hurts me to see him in a Clippers Jersey. He brought us a ton of joy for many years since we acquired him from the Indiana Pacers. Dunno about overrated but certainly over the hill and too stubborn to adapt to a changing league that has moved on from the 90's style "forget about skill, just get the biggest guys you can and let em bang it out in the paint" team and game plan design. Your big strong rim protectors are obsolete against the new speedy wings who exploit fast break opportunities, can space the floor, and whose 3 point scoring efficiency is equal to or better than a 65% 2pt fg percentage. Meanwhile Kawhi is just as over the hill but in his case it's because he just doesn't care and doesn't want to try. It's a terrible shame to see because Kawhi has the talent and ability to be a distant standout superstar.

NBA players are under contract which essentially means the team owns them and they are valuable assets until their contract is over, it's not like your job where you get paid weekly or on salary and can just quit anytime.

I understand being respectful towards players. There's certainly lines you do not cross and that's being rude, throwing things, disrespectful, profanity, and talking about player's family but booing at the opposing team isn't one of them. Players understand that fans are going to boo and talk a little smack when it comes to their game but no one deserves to be disrespected and berate by anyone nor chastised by someone who is a hypocrite either. The fans spend their hard earned money to watch a game and enjoy themselves which includes booing at opposing players and former players. As long as they don't cross the line.

@@DonKey496yup I actually watch the full games not just stats. He's well past his prime. Actually it's painful watching him run up and down the court. He doesn't have young legs anymore. Everyone ages differently depending on their joints, muscles, injuries etc. And imo the days of kawhi being a superstar are over...also his form is too mechanical and slow for him to have longevity.
@cfwcheeze
@cfwcheeze 6 месяцев назад
@@loverofhumanitySo I'm sure you're one of those people who were saying the exact same things you're saying now last year around this same point in the season. Then the playoffs came around and was shocked at how he looked those 2 games? Kawhi has never been the most athletic & has always been robotic in his movements. Nor has he ever been one to rely on his athleticism on either end of the court. He's physical makeup(height, weight, wingspan, strength, HUGE hands) along with his IQ & technique is what makes him Elite defensively. Offensively it's all about getting to his spots which he still does whenever he wants. He just doesnt care about putting up any big numbers individually or even being labeled a "superstar". Kawhi is all about WINNING. Whatevers necessary. I say that to say keep in mind its early in the season & Kawhi knows that the only way they'll win a championship is if they figure out how to play collectively at a high level. He's not really trying to assert himself just yet. He knows the regular season doesnt mean anything. Especially this early. When the time comes for him to turn it up & be the best in the world he'll do it. Like he always does.
