These worms are amazing and very cheap for the amount of fish you can catch them on. Purple is always a favorite but my go to's are Pumpkin Seed and Natural.

Licorice smell to them, is the smell of my child hood, they crushed the bass at stony back in the 90s, still crush it to this day, great economical bait and fun to use! Yep purple is a great color, can never go wrong with pumpkin seed here or Lake st clair.

Back in the 90's I used to twist the worm a little in-between the 2nd and 3rd hook and then put the 2nd hook through the worm. You should bring back the banjo minnow.

Interesting, I'll have to try that. And the banjo minnow worked really well, used it a lot on a pond next to my grandpas farm, but then again, the bass were always starving there lol

Really nice scenery shots of the park, good illustration of how the bait works, enjoyed the video.

Love the blues music in this one. That looked like a blast, we've got to get out together in the kayaks sometime. My new aquarium finally came in so hopefully I'll get it set up soon and make the old one a native tank with at least a Smally and a Grass Pickerel.

Yeah big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Clapton, any time blues flows together with the video, I add it pronto. That would be fun man, I remember that good time we had out there, rage blade was a hot lure for Stony. I think you got a 3 pounder that one day from what I remember at the bridge if Im not mistaken... Stony can be tough, but there's bass out there with some different genetics as you can see 15:02. Yeah can't wait to see the fish tank setup man, a grass pickerel would be awesome to have in a tank, of course a bronzie too!

Stones has some good blues tunes too, a lot of people don't know that, my Pops listens to them from time to time... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rA5E8Q-AJM0.html

Great video! I have a couple of those bass stopper worms but have never tried them out. I fish stony creek lake a lot too! Great Lake, but a little bit pressured. Sick drone footage as well!

Thanks Curtis, yeah they work pretty good, the liquorish smell is the smell of my childhood, used the Kelly's worms at Stony all the way back in the 90s. They did have a topwater worm that worked great too, I gotta find that topwater version. Tight lines!

Stony is always fun, but challenging, heard numerous fishermen say it's good to fish the weed line where it begins to drop off. Or cast between the very weedy openings, whats nice about this hobie mirage drive is it cuts through the weeds very well, the pedal drive I heard accumulates weeds with the propeller. Gotta find the baitfish, I moved around quite a bit, seemed all the bass I caught were where the minnows were jumping... Stony is a gorgeous lake, seen a giant water snake over there right in the middle of the lake, thought it was a big stick in the water...

State record white crappie was caught here in ‘01 I think. Yeah not as many crappie and walleye anymore. My friend has been shore fishing for about 7 years at this lake and finally caught a walleye from shore.

No kidding, I did not know that, thats pretty neat! Yeah its a whole different lake now, but so is Kent, catching a big smallmouth is pretty rare unless fishing the deeper west side of kent lake. I miss how both lakes used to be, finding a good inland lake with crappie and walleye is tough. Things can travel in cycles so I hope one year the crappie do make a turnaround. Pike definitely do seem to he a nuisance at both kent and stony, I think DNR should definitely do something about the pike at kent. Wow 7 years, that's tough... I notice at kent you're more likely to kent a smallmouth and walleye now fishing towards dusk or night. It's nice get away from the 3 foot waves from lake st clair every now and then, to just have some peace and tranquility, kent and stony can give me that! Still such a beautiful lake!!! Tight lines!

Stony ain't easy bro, common story I've heard over years, even back in the day it was tough at times. Used to be a lot of walleye and crappie back in the day, now it's turned into a bass and pike lake. I definitely noticed where I was catching the bass in September, I heard the clicking sound where the small minnows were jumping out of the water. I tried near the bridge for 3 hours, didn't get anything down there. But that's where Northern Mike and I got some decent largemouth using chatterbaits in 2018 using waders from the shoreline, even then we had to do a lot of casting to get a few, I had got a few on a green rage blade chatterbait using a green 4" powerbait as a trailer. Can't remember what mike was using, be he got a decent bass on a chatterbait as well. I've always heard inline spinners work at Stony too. It's a tough lake man, these bass made me work for it this day as well. I did see some big bass jumping the northwest reed line near the bridge, maybe I should try using a topwater frog or zara spook there next year. Beautiful scenery at Stony, still love going there! Kent is a lot better lake to fish though... Gonna have to try Lake Orion this year from the Kayak or maybe try Lakeville Lake again, I haven't been to Lakeville in 7 or 8 years..

@@EternalAngler oh wow nice! Yes walleye use to run so good at Stoney creek!!! I caught my biggest walleye there back in 2011 sadly there’s barely anymore. I’m so bad at Kent lake lmao don’t even want to talk about it. Haven’t caught a fish there.. I tried like five times last year 😂...... Lakeville is really good I went there last year in summer. Lake Orion I went there water is really clear never actually fished so I’m not sure how good it is.

@@ruffrize if you're fishing the deeper water near the west boat launch, that could be why, I went there last spring and had 1 follow up of a smallmouth bass. That side of Kent is a whole different beast, I've seen Arcasting pickup some big bass on that side near pipelines and specific spots with the Googan Juicee jig, but it aint easy and you must know the area like back of your hand. Other springs and summers I've fished Kent on the other side of the lake in the shallows where it gradually slopes with artificials like wacky rigs, chatterbaits, and jerkbaits have picked up plenty of 4 pounders, even seen 5 pounders pulled. And you if you want to have a lot of fun, try topwater like zara spook, whopper plopper or even a bubble/fly setup ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p2avn5xqsC4.html Topwater is a ton of fun when you're inchin towards dusk, good time to when the biggins wakeup and go on the feed. Musky are the same way at Lake St. Clair at times, you can fish the whole day without getting a musky, then that last two hours can be vital for picking up your first musky. Big Al, the Michigan Musky Bandit knows all about it, always keep an eye out where the sun like in the video like I shared, can be your fish sundial at times to pickup the right go-to bait and concentrate harder, cast in spots where you know the big bass and musky are at. Sometimes at Lake St. Clair, I'll fish the deeper spots of the lake during the day, then move into the shallows near piers at dusk. I think apex predators move into the shallows when the sun starts creeping down at times ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pmKQ5X6jW6s.html Having waders goes a long way on inland lakes like Kent, where those extra feet of casting to drop off points and deeper water goes a long way, I think spinning is better from the shoreline too because you can cast further, however, if you have a Curado DC, DC almost casts as far as a spinning reel. Covering as much ground as possible is vital, especially when it comes to musky fishing from the shoreline. I'll go for walleye occasionally, but they don't get my adrenaline going much and I'm not into that whole cracking bears on the Detroit River, vertical jig fishing and waiting for an eye to hit your bait, starts creeping towards live bait and bobber fishing. Still can be fun, but different strokes for different folks, all what ya like!

If you follow this guy it is. If you go there and throw a Strike King Rage Bug on #3 hook with 1/4-3/8 tungsten sinker locked on 15-20 pound flourocarbon on a 7’4” heavy flipping rod fast tip with a bait caster, you might get a 5 three- four pound largemouth like I have several times. Or a lipless crank bait in the deep water when the water gets hotter in the late summer. Or a spinner bait or….ect. Watch some good bass fisherman on RU-vid
