I will be doing this at the end of September. This video was helpful to me about where to launch AND knowing about the parking fee. I would love to camp at Horseshoe Bend. I will look for that video you mentioned.
I will be kayaking about half of the lake at the end of October for close to 2 weeks with some pals and gals. Probably won't go further than Rainbow Bridge. Awesome 👍🏽. Looks like we just missed each other this weekend. We did kayaking and camping at Horseshoe bend then made it over to the Antelope ramp to launch off of that steep ramp. It was a struggle getting back up, but it was a blast 👍🏽

Excellent! I did just find out last week that unfortunately all access to antelope boat launch is closed. You can still kayak and hike the canyon but you need to go with a kayak rental company that will shuttle you from waheap boat launch. I don’t have a ton of other details, but make sure to get in touch with a rental company first before making any other plans. Have fun! It’s beautiful out there!
Hey Brian, I am wanting to do my first kayak camping trip with a couple of other beginners. I’ve watched a few of your videos and wondered if you can recommend out of these three options what would be the best option for beginners. Marble canyon (horseshoe bend), antelope canyon (lake Powell) or Hoover Dam to Willow beach? We’ve done backpacking trips together and some simple kayaking. Thanks for any advice. 😊
Sorry for the delay! If you’re an experienced backpacker all there are at your skill level, even as a beginner. But if I had to pick one I would suggest Marble. It’s my favorite and honestly not technically challenging. You’re paddling with the current of the river so it’s pretty easy. The most challenging parts are the logistics (hiring the shuttle) and staying put of the very cold water. But those two things are completely doable for a beginner.
