Awesome vid, curious about the rig you use?

Just a simple knocker rig consisting of either 1/2 or 3/4 oz egg sinker, bead, and 1/0 light wire circle hook. It works great for me in 1’ to 50’ of water.

Thanks, been trying this for only a year so far, mainly using a double dropper when we go out. We’ll have to give this a try this coming Wednesday when we go out again. What’s your favorite reel to use for this kind of fishing? I’ve got a cheap kastking hasn’t held up very well in the saltwater and sand, any recommendations?

@@pfound93 I primarily fish with Revo baitcasters on the kayak. I’ve been using the Inshore, STX, and Zata. I also have a few Daiwa Lexa’s and a Okuma Komodo. Keep at it, the less stuff you have on the line the better. It allows for the sardines to swim better.

Nice I’ll have to look into those, sometimes we’ll do surf launches from the campground over there, we’ve all flipped at least once and inevitability it will happen again. Any of those reels have a little more seal that you recommend for surf launchers?

Not really anything you can do about that when they get soaked. I just get a spay bottle and mist them up, wipe them down, open them up and dry out the inside. You want to look for reels that have high corrosion resistant bearings or sealed bearings. The key is to clean them after every use. Also leash them to your kayak

great day - and dinner!! I loved the underwater shots, too. And, a simple but elegant (and looked quite tasty) recipe! It's nice to have you back on the water!
