A decent graph, especially with downscan really shortens it. For the most part, go straight out about 100yd from the ramp and you'll probably find them.
+Bank and Paddle Fishing (Jeremy Baker) ^^^ this kind of info, I did not know there where aerators in this water, was going to take my waders and try and bank fish but think the bottom might be too muddy and slick to walk around
You should give a drop shot rig a try for the panfish with a 2 1/2 or 3 inch plastic. They eat it up. I caught up to a 12 inch crappie and a couple of 10 inch perch on this rig a couple of weeks ago out there.
Can you do like a graph of lake, don't expect you to give out all of your way points, but just like overall view, is it a big bowl on west side, what's max depth, is it rocky or muddy bottom etc. I feel like bank fishing there waste a lot of time on non productive water and the fish seem to move from east shallows back to middle deep parts. thanks
Bass Pro and Cabelas both have the Fish n Map Co. maps for Quincy. I've got the one that has Cherry Creek, Aurora and Quincy. These maps are great and have all the depth markings along with markings showing different underwater structures. These maps are fairly accurate as they may not show some of the most recent laydowns and other man-made structures that were placed in these lakes recently.
I started out with the Fish-N-Map and fish Quincy almost exclusively. The map is using a couple decade old data though. But here's a basic rundown. It's mostly mud bottom, somewhat bowl-ish, but there are some humps and dropoffs. There's a pronounced creek channel and a road bed running next to it. Creek channel swings right along the shoreline in a couple of places in the east cove. I'd gladly give you a couple places to start with on any given weekend.
It's the NRS Chinook. Great PFD, especially if you have a sit in kayak w/ one of the newer raised seats. Here's a link to it: www.nrs.com/product/21501/nrs-chinook-mesh-back-fishing-pfd-closeout
The great thing about Hobie Outbacks is that they are pre drilled and set up to install fish finder w/ their "Lowrance Ready" setup. There's a video on Hobie's website on how to install a fish finder using this system and I basically followed that. I also used the Hobie Fish Finder install kit to help w/ the install (comes with a few more install pieces, battery and charger). Hope this helps!
