I don’t mean to constantly repeat myself...Actually yes I do, That water is B E A-utiful... aside from broken line wrapped around your head, that’s dream day fishing!! Great video Brother!!
Man ,I'm sitting here at work in our break room and started watching this and the thing about jumping on a horse totally put me in laughter, I love it .I have watched since practically the beginning of your channel, and absolutely love it ,thank you.
I notice when I kayak I cover great quantities of water but don't get great quality fishing in each hole but when i wade the quality of fishing goes way up because i control how fast I move through area's. Not surprised to see your bigger fish being caught on foot. We've all felt that same pain when you lost that bigger bass lol.
Very nice scenery very clear water a lot of fish that would never get old the view and clear water and catching fish don’t get any better then that great videos
Beautiful creek. I’ve never caught that many fish from a stream but one of my favourite mountain lakes here in Central British Columbia is just full of wild rainbow trout. One day three weeks ago I caught 35 plus smaller rainbow on my split cane fly rod and a Shakespeare 3 ft UglyStik ultralight. Gotta be a great day when you can catch that many fish, let alone 50 smallies. I returned to the same lake 3 days ago and used bigger hooks. I caught 16, but 3 of them were the biggest size I’ve caught in that lake. John has inspired me to get out to more and different waters. What a ride!
Man I just love the creeks that you fish! Not alot of people are dedicated enough to be versatile in all that you accomplish in creeks from kayaking, wading, and banks . Showing a growing audience what you can possibly be done in just inches of water. God bless you brother. Peace & love
Good day for KY creek smallies! Got 7 today from 10"-13" along with 7 rock bass in about 90 min. The cold front really helped! Feel yer pain on the broken leader line too....that was me yesterday, all snags 😒
Yesssir. I don’t live but about 20 minutes from there. Jenny Wiley and paintsville lake ain’t bad either but yatesville is my favorite lake to bass fish in.
Isn't fishing crazy? I'm glad to see that you hit a spot like this one. I'm currently in a drought. 3 fish over the last 3 weeks. I keep on going though. Too relaxing 😌.
Many a year I fished summer and winter on Lake Cumberland out of Alligator 2 boat docks. My father-in-law is dead now, and I'm old, but the times there are in my memory forever.
Re-tie re-tie re-tie! Oh, and check you’re drag. Some advice I got from a tournament fisherman years ago: treat every fish like it’s a world record. Because someday, it will be. All your stuff in the best condition it can be. Including knots. Cheers
As always another great video! That is a beautiful creek and that is the most perfect setting that I love to fish! I really enjoy every time you post a video as it is always great and love your enthusiasm no matter the size you catch!
haha Some excellent footage of you wrapping line around your head...lol thanks for leaving that in... I watched your rod bend and thought WooHoo then Oh NO.... Nice footage of the large mouth jumping too. That camera behind your back is working really nicely. I'm from KY so it was nice seeing some familiar flora. Thanks for sharing.
I felt the pain with you when your line broke!............ I'm not sure where it broke, but in case it broke at the knot I would suggest a blood knot when tying a leader or connecting two lines. I have had great results with this knot for a multitude of situations. Other times your line will rub against rocks and develop a weak point just waiting for you to hook into a lunker.
By the way, been watching you awhile and I love your earnest and humbling demeanor! Your a working man and I totally respect along with your Christian foundation! Godspeed and FISH ON bro!
and its allways the real big ones. While wading iI lost a pike one day and I saw him about:4ft long and 4m away from land. Man... :( But sometimes I think, he wants to teach us a lesson. (you have to find out yourself, what kind of lesson it is. ;o) )
This is funny, I am looking into getting into Kayak fishing (Two things I want to get into, so why not do both, ya know?) I went Kayaking for the first time two days ago and it went really well so wanted to look up some information. Your video is the first one that came up and you're all like "I'm from Bowling Green" and I lived there on and off over the course of 15 years. I've been in Nashville now for 5 years. Just amused.
Elkhorn Creek is awesome. Lots of fish and quality fish in the main body. Been fishing it for years but never floated it. Great fishing though. This year should be awesome.
Wow another great vid on a beautiful creek. I could definitely hear you better when you swapped to the chest mount. I love the two different angles from the kayak but the voice audio was just a lil low. Even small smallies are fun 👊👍.
Holy crap dude I knew there was a reason why you are my favorite fshing channel. I am from ky too and a Big Blue Idiot, this is the 1st time I heard you were from here lol. I watch most if not all your vids man for the past 2 years. Awesome fishing bub.
What size and type of hook do you use when fishing with a hellgrammite? Also which brand of hellgrammites do you prefer? Great video, I always enjoy watching them!
Loved the start😀 Was it hot that day? If it was might want to check out rocks and or better oxygenated waters. Don’t worry, that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching. And the verse was perfect!
15:20 made me thirsty.smh I moved to northern Ohio from middle tn four years ago, haven’t been back home lately and currently out of diet cherry sundrop.
Nice video, love your channel! I'm from Shepherdsville, KY so it's awesome to see some local content on RU-vid that I can relate to! What are the specs of your rod/reel setup?
Do you ever get up into north Central Kentucky and fish Elkhorn Creek or drennon Creek? We been fishing quite a bit in Tennessee down around Athens Tennessee. Actually been fishing the Hiwassee River last couple trips but come up here in North Central Kentucky if you get a chance. Love the videos
I really enjoy your videos but I prefer the angle from the camera strapped to you. That's the best perspective in my opinion anyway. Thanks for the fun videos.
So after you caught the giant carp, your new rule of the thumb is to bleed out 25 to 50 foot of line and retie all knots, and change any leaders...... This not my words but many old timers, my uncle as one, as well as another famous fisherman who has another channel...... "Richard Gene the Fishing Machine", I watch a lot of fishing videos!!!!!!! But yours closer to how I grew up!!!!
You are the teacher now with all your videos!!!!! People are watching and you are teaching....nobody knows it all but experience is great teacher with the lord's hand in!!! Richard is a good teacher and speaks of the lord too!!@@CreekFishingAdventures
If that is the river I think it is, I came through there a couple of weeks ago on my way home from a Colorado/Utah trip. I told my wife that all those little middle KY rivers and creeks just look loaded with fish...looks like I was right. I wish you would come over to Harlan county where the three forks of the Cumberland meet. Nobody here much floats or fishes them that I can tell.
Hey, Dewayne, My name is Randy Blevins. Saw your comment and had to post a response. I live at Loyall,Ky. . Great to see another Harlan county dude on here . Have a great day!
That is the same paddle I started out with. It's heavy AF. I think I believe it is 5 pounds. I upgraded to the HT Carbon paddle. You don't have as much paddle but can paddle longer.
I have mentioned this before , but we have the same poles and same kayak. The only issue I have had with this kayak is that it is so heavy and getting it on top of my Jeep is not easy. Dragging it put a small weak spot that sometimes leaks water.
Hey John, great video! Lord willing, we are going to Kentucky for vacation the last part of May and first week of June. We are going to see the Ark experience and the Creation Museum. We will be in Warsaw Kentucky. Any tips on where to do some smallmouth fishing there other than Elkhorn Creek?
@@CreekFishingAdventures , I'll post up any videos from there. Elkhorn is one of those 100 fish a day creeks but not much size. I'll post up any videos from there. I'll try to take some video from the Ark experience but not sure how much I can get away with. Thanks for the sub. I appreciate it.
I have a crush on your little boat sir .. haha .. where did you buy it? How much does it cost? what is the name of the little crews? because Indonesia doesn't exist .. hehe
That is the reason i don't find hellgrammite in my local bait shop or wally world for that matter, just googled it and they are found in the mtns of n.c. but im in the middle ob the coast side, never have i seen one in the woods/streams/creeks!if i go west ill look!!the mystery is solved for me
Smallmouth bass are the strongest fish I have ever caught as far as when they're snapping their head back and forth I had one break the front of my lower off from the rest of it
