That lake is a lot bigger than I realized, I was at the Lecanto city park on the shore a few years ago, only saw a small section. Great find- now for some wind!

You should check into an inflatable kayak for funzies when you don’t wanna lift your kayak. I bought Sam and I each one a couple years ago when they were on clearance out of season. Would be good when your back is sore. Love ya Big Brother! (Also, the spicy ramen is my fav too!) ha! 😂

Looking good! How is your posture? Are you sitting up tall enough? On that edge turn, looking into the center of the turn. The boat should sit easier on its edge if you turn your head to look because the mass above your shoulders will move back closer to the centerline of the boat. Posture remains important through those turns. Practice it: paddle forward three strokes, edge the boat and initiate the turn with a sweep stroke away from the direction of the turn, bring your head and shoulders-hands-paddle to face the inside of the turn, grin (gotta grin) and hold it while the boat does the work. Then do it to the other side. There are two main types of European (flat slightly spooned blades) sea kayak paddles that are described by the angle of the shaft from horizontal during the normal paddle stroke as "low-angle" and "high-angle" paddles. The paddle you are using is a "low-angle" paddle and is differentiated from "high-angle" by the relatively long and narrow blade. "Low-angle" paddles are generally considered good for long distances at a reasonable pace, but not often used for sprinting and "go-fast" activities. All this is to say that you often use your paddle with the "high-angle" stroke and may find it less fatiguing to go "low-angle" -- especially with the sailing rig -- by letting your hands stay around shoulder high on the stroke instead of eye-high.
