Blue Heart Springs near Hagerman Idaho. This once secret oasis along the Snake River has exploded in popularity thanks in part to drone technology. Arial views of Blue Heart Springs began popping up all over social media of this cool, deep blue oasis, tucked away in Southern Idaho. But these arial images also lie a little bit. Looking at a photo of Blue Heart Springs may have you thinking this pool is only accessible to the most seasoned Idaho explorer. In reality this is one of the easier day trips in all of South Idaho. Much easier than the paddle to Shoshone Falls. If you haven’t seen our video on paddling to Shoshone and want to check it out, I’ll leave a link to it in the description below.

Blue Heart Springs is located on a portion of the Snake River that runs along Idaho’s Highway 30 part of Thousand Springs Scenic Byway. Along this highway find Banbury Hot Springs between Hagerman and Buhl Idaho. It’s super easy to find, signs everywhere, you can’t miss it. If you’re looking to stay the night and make a weekend getaway out of this trip there are camp sites at Banbury Hot Springs as well as at its sister site across the road, Miracle Hot Springs. Miracle Hot Springs also has yurts for rent if you don’t mind sleeping next to an alligator.
Banbury Hot Springs is where you start your journey to Blue Heart Springs. If you need them, you can rent SUP boards and kayaks at Banbury Hot Springs, visit their website for pricing, link below. If you have your own stuff and just need the dock, it’s $5 for parking and day use. Also something to be aware of is that Banbury Hot Springs isn’t open on Sundays to rent gear, but the camp host is still available to collect your parking fee if you want to use the dock. From Banbury Hot Springs, Blue Heart Springs is on your right, 1.5 miles up a calm and relaxing section of the Snake River where you’ll see waterfalls and wildlife.

@JonConti
@JonConti 4 года назад
This is extremely easy for a beginner, there are no rapids or anything. It's an out and back so you paddle up river to Blue Heart, then you paddle back to the dock you launched from.

You can paddle all the way to 1000 Springs and, assuming you have shuttle capability, transport your rental kayak back to Banbury

Been waiting for this video!! So awesome. Box canyon nature preserve/state park has been on my bucket list ever since Idaho public television did a big special on all the state parks in Idaho, and I'd love to know if blue heart springs is the same as box canyon?? The section on the springs and blue water in that area blew my mind, I had no idea it was there! Can't wait to check this place out, great video as always!
@JonConti
@JonConti 4 года назад
Stephanie Anderson thanks Stephanie! We have to do a video on box canyon eventually. We went there once but didn’t have a RU-vid channel then. I’m curious on why the water at Blue Heart is so blue? We tried to find out and I’m not sure anyone knows why? If anyone finds out let us know!

I’m from Henderson Nevada and been paddle boarding for two years now. I want to do a trip up to Shoshone Falls but would like someone to lead and guide us on a tour. How long is the paddle to the Shoshone falls. Not looking to necessarily be up close and personal with the falls but willing to see it at a safe distance and take some awesome pictures. What’s the temperature like and what’s the latest in the year you would suggest paddling this adventure?
@JonConti
@JonConti 2 года назад
Ok I was just there this weekend and I went over to AWOL adventure sports and asked them some of your questions. They usually offer a guided trip for $75 a person, but labor day was their last week. You can still paddle to the falls, pretty much until it becomes too cold. Right now the water is still pretty warm, but our temperatures are dropping. Probably best to wait until next year and have AWOL guide you. July and August are the best months. Here's my video on the falls if you haven't seen it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QeviTi_5vo8.html
