We rented a kayak at Sail Honeymoon (in the causeway before Honeymoon Island state park Florida) - we then paddled our way to the far end of Caladesi Island State Park and enjoyed the beautiful mangroves at Caladesi! This was a great time, and our first kayak adventure! (we are kayak newbies!). Caladesi Island is an amazing place to visit, and is home to the Caladesi Marina.
Great place to come for Clearwater beach Florida spring break - one of the nicest places for kayaking in Tampa! this has been one of our favorite things to do in our fulltime rv journey. One of the nicest Florida state parks around for sure.

I grew up there in the 60s & 70s. It was a different world. I’m glad to see folks appreciate the mangrove ecosystem. Most of my life no one cared & the sooner mangroves were dredged & seawall constructed the better. It’s great to see folks enjoying what was fought for & saved; you wouldn’t believe how much has been lost.

I know this area well. It isn’t a beginner friendly area. The current can be a workout even for the those who are physically fit. We have beautiful springs just north of there. Come and see our beautiful Weeki Wachee Springs. Always a beautiful 72* waters. 💕 Be safe and enjoy!

It’s a beautiful island. The other side of the island is even more beautiful, there You have the view of the whole gulf.

I think we are going to take the ferry there today but definitely want to Kayak there when we get a chance. I love kayaking!

I loved kayaking in Florida Bay at Key Largo. I also enjoyed kayaking in and around Wakiva Springs north of Orlando and Tampa Bay around Apollo Beach.

That's awesome! Totally doable, just take a lot of water! You can easily get there in a hour or so at a medium pace (from the causeway)

If I may ask, where have you been staying during your time on the west coast? we've been at Caladesi RV Resort in Palm Harbor, Fl. here till the end of this week. 3/26. We love the Dunedin Causeway but haven't tried kayaking ever. 👍#4

We highly recommend kayaking there if you get the chance. How do you like Caladesi RV Resort? We are staying at Bay Bayou RV Resort in Tampa. Really nice place. About a 20 min drive for us to the Dunedin Causeway though.
