While the auto-generated captions were decent, there were still several things I couldn't follow. Please consider adding captions for us deaf paddlers.

Great info! We kayak in the South Puget Sound in Washington State and it amazes me how nearly half of the kayakers I encounter are not wearing life jackets. An even higher percentage have no other safety gear at all. So you can imaging how few would bother to know the rules of water craft traffic. Thank you, I will share and like this video!

Norbielp a lot of morons on yt are the same way, they are not smart enough to wear one either. Whats even worse is when their children don't have one on. Ppl really do get over confident in the water. Common sense is not so common.

Please point out that the lateral mark buoyage system described in this video (leave red to the right) only applies to countries in Area B , that is North and South America plus a number of other regions. You don't need to know the three R's when kayaking. You need to STAY OUT of the channel...you can go where power boats cannot. It's not that it is not allowed, it is that you need some sense of self preservation and awareness.

I prefer to take on wakes at an angle, for the same reason many mountain roads have switchbacks. I have delt with wakes that would have swamped my boat, had I taken them head on.

Great video, but i've found that the most troublleing boat generated waves, are the ones coming from a boat moving in the same direction as you, becaouse they hit yo from behind, how do you suggest one should deal with these waves? ( you cannot point yoour bow to them)

Edward Feeley I have seen ppl use helmets for rapids, or otherwise fast moving water so that they can avoid hitting their heads on rocks. I hope that helps.
