@@kphookstra3671 YES! And definitely, "When My Train Pulls In" - Gary Clark Jr, the "In The Van" version! Just killer, man. And of course, he'd have to include "This Land"! Great request, @KPH!
I'm telling ya, peoples were cool when I was young. Idk if it's the internet or these SJWs or Antifas or whatever. This BS is new and seems to have come out of nowhere. People just got along way back when.
I'm 64, I have fond memories! I loved the 70,s! I wish I could time travel back there and stay there! Now day,s shitty music and cell phones, and self absorption/ Lol😢😢😂😊😊
@@VinzClorthokeymasterofGozer And she was _spectacular_ in concert. Did costume changes behind a screen, on stage, while singing. She put on an incredible show!
Agreed! Although it's amazing to have so many places we can find music now, there was a unity that came from everyone listening to the same local radio station. For me, that's one of the reasons I love Jamal's channel. Throwbackness in that sense, too!
Things were different back then. The 70's was a great time for teens and young people. Getting together on a dance floor and leave everything at the door. I used to wear Bell Bottoms.
Good to know. The history of this period is pretty bleak, so my impression is that kinda explains why so much of the music was just about having fun, dancing, all that. Kind of an unplug from the grim and get your groove on. :)
A throwback to my high school days, when young people weren't afraid to have FUN.....the band, the crowd, everyone, every color, every economic class.....FUN....!!
Never was a disco fan (although the bass lines and grooves can be incredibly funky). But I have and will forever dance to this song all night in my boxers if you give me the chance to.
Same. I was solid Rock, before metal and sampling reggae songs back then, stumbled onto some Disco that I actually liked. This being one of them. Underrated, feel good song.
Right when you said "!im here to brighten your day" i was thinking the exact same thing! I love you jamal. You make everyday better and i look forward to your videos daily...religuously.
Jamel, as the world goes through challenges you bring JOY and happiness to everyone through music. Thank you, I smile and breath every time I watch your videos.
Your joyful reactions to all this wonderful music I've grown up with make me so happy! My mother texted me yesterday to tell me she subscribed to you too after I sent her a link. You're certainly keeping my family smiling. Thank you for being so wonderful! :D
I remember my woodworking shop teacher in high school having this as his ringtone on his phone and every time it rings, he’ll start dancing to it for a couple of seconds before answering.
Just want to say I appreciate you. Today was rough. Out of all the crap I had throw at me I come home just in time to say goodbye to my 2 month old kitten. My head and heart is all over the place. I knew watching your channel would help lift me up. You and the Unity Wig. Much love and support bruh.
@@jamelakajamal can you do a reaction to Bob Seger Railroad Days here is the link below ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-px9DYEVaMOg.html
I put on my boogie shoes on friday night and dance in my living room like its back in the day. Now that ive found these, i be dancing with you now. Thanks for this. Can you do more of these in 2024?
I think KC fought to get this song on the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack, he did, and he's benefitted with the royalties that comes with it! Great reaction video Jamel..
thanks for posting this,we need more people like you. Back then we all got along. Younger people today need to learn from the lessons in the past. The 70's were a great time to be young.
Rock Your Baby is somewhat considered to be the first major disco song. But I think Rock The Boat by the Hughes Corporation was considered the very first hit disco song,
"Rock Your Baby" features some very smooth guitar work over a samba like bass line. The drum track features a lot of tight high hat work. Electric piano embellishments drenched with reverb. Tinkled out melody on what sounds like a Hammond organ. The falsetto vocals lift the song higher. 6:24 -- more than enough time to cut a rug or skate around a roller rink!
AMEN to your DIVERSE comment!!!!! It was awesome!!!! Thank you!!!! The Wig and these reactions have been my favorite’s!!!! You don’t realize how much joy you bring to us!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Back in those days I was 5.9 with my platform shoes i was 6.1 lol had a bright yellow 72 Corvette. Go out on Saturday night to disco with my bright yellow big ass bell bottom pants probably white shirt. Looked cheesy as hell but i thought i was the damn man!! LMAO 🕺
I've seen KC and the Sunshine Band the last 2 years on the Ultimate Disco Cruise. KC sounds just as good as he did back in the 70s. And he's the hardest working brotha from that era on stage!! Puts on one helluva show!
MIRACLES.....OH MY GOD!!!!!!! That song is in my top 5 fave songs EVER!!!! My mouth dropped when i heard the "real" version. That song, Jane, and Runaway are my faves
I loved KC and the sunshine band back in the day!! Great uplifting music... And yes they were diverse and colorful and fun... So much good energy which is what we need! Thank you for your energy too. You're great!!
It is impossible not to move and smile when hearing this music..soul soothing and brings us together! Love it!! ❤ I want to break out my rollerblades and head to the skate rink!!! ...
@@jamelakajamal Mr. Jamel, Thank You for being so much fun! Btw on your Rare Earth Reaction at Cal Jam. The Drummer's nephew made a comment and sent the link to his uncle. 👍

@@jamelakajamal How thick is that shirt? I'm in Houston in July having hot flashes. I need thin cotton, but being an awesome throwback myself, I want this real bad.
This music takes me back to the 70's . . . Going to the skating rink and Jr high school and mom and dad paying all the bills . Hahaha 😂😂😂 . . Damn it was great back then . . . Thank them for the life you have and hopefully enjoy .
So many of these songs remind me of doing dishes. I'm a teenager (back in the day) and it's my turn to do the dishes. The radio is perched in the window to get the best possible reception and I'm scrubbing and singing. :)
Ya DO gotta love it....love it when you put that wig on, cause were gonna be enjoying some old school soul. You DO make us feel better, ty! Stayin' tuned.
