Nearly 116 million Americans are living with hypertension, more commonly known as high blood pressure. 20% of those patients have resistant hypertension - blood pressure that can’t be controlled - even with multiple medications. Resistant hypertension comes with serious risks for patients, including a substantially increased risk for heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. Renal Denervation (RDN) is a minimally-invasive and potentially life-changing option for these patients.
KCTV5 talks with Dr. Steven Laster, interventional cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and lead study principal investigator, about how Saint Luke’s has been the leading hospital in the region involved in this research and a major enroller in the RADIANCE II trial and how it helps patients with hypertension.

I think it’s better to do something with your diet, lower stress as well as exercise and then if that doesn’t help then try this because being on medications for life isn’t the answer. I hope this helps many people like myself who’ve had strokes and need better control of their blood pressure and less medications. Some environmental things we can’t control but learn to not let it affect us. There’s hope! ❤ good luck and glad there are new options in trial for patients with uncontrolled blood pressure high too high and too low.
