OMG I try to learn Inkscape for character making I find your videos I try to learn Opentoonz for character animation I find your videos I now try to learn KDLive for making the whole thing professional and guess who I find ? I hope you get enough recognition for you do, what a legend
Guess who's about to stop using olive. This software is going to help so much with my "animations". I've uploaded some videos and you can see they're kind of dull because olive kind lacks in like everything, But ye thank youuuuu.
Ten years ago I could not see anything better than Sony Vegas (that I still love but use Linux only), and now I visit all possible freewares, and You help me travel through
I'm blown away that this FREE program can do all this!!! Way better than any Video Editor I have subscribed to or purchased!!! The only thing I'm now subscribing to is your very informative channel!!!!
I was going through the kdenlive handbook and couldn't understand the point of keyframes. Your video explained it very well, "Whatever effect is applied between two keyframes, it slowly transitions from one value to another".
Really appreciate your tutorials. Kdenlive version is now 19.04 and some things have changed with regard to transitions and effects. Example in older versions, affine is mentioned several times in different tutorials (including yours). May I suggest some tutorials clarifying e.g. use of affine and roboscoping with the latest version of kdenlive. The affine effect is not listed in the new 19.04 version.
Honestly, coming from Vegas Pro: this editor is probably the easiest to switch over to. Premiere is a nightmare to learn, and resolve is easier, but not anywhere close to as straight forward as kdenlive.
often when i do animation i like to put the object i animate in 50% opacity to better see where it is compared to the background (so that it align correctly with stuff on the background i want it to be aligned with) - so i put the object in 50% opacity and create a bunch of key frame where i change position and rotation as needed - once i'm done i need to go back to each key frame one by one to put back opacity at 100% - is there a way to select multiple keyframes at once to change one parameter for all key frames at once ? thanks
Bro every time I need some help with some opensource software, you have a cool list for that. I learnt inkscape, lmms, gimp thanks to you. Cannot be more thankfull for that. Now I need some help with a text animation, I'm not sure if is a thing that kdenlive can do, or syfig or which software. Can you point me the right direction? The animation I need to make is convert initials to the full word. For exampl YAW > You Are Awesome . I did this kind of work a lot of years ago with action script 3 (flash) and interpolation. Can you tell me which software can achieve that? if need coding Im ok with that, I work only with foss from linux. Thanks in advance!!!
Hi Joseph! I'll work on some more compositing content. I personally like to do 2D compositing in Natron and 3D in Blender, and then render them out as video clips to work with in kdenlive. Kdenlive does not have a good 3d work space... Glad you're liking these.
Sure, you can find my public email address in the about section of my channel, under business inquires. I still haven't set up a tjfree facebook page yet. I'd love to hear from you.
Thank you for this video, and also for this comment mentioning Natron. I just tried it out and that is what I need for my current animation project. Kdenlive is certainly great for cutting video and some simple animations, I really like it. But tools like Natron, where key frame animations have a high significance, are what is really needed for more complex animations.
im having an issue with the transform effect , I can only tween one thing ( only one thing shows up ) and if I try another one but it makes it so none of the parts work , does anyone know how to fix this or is it not able to be fixed ?
I'm probably doing it wrong but when I have that problem I render the video then start a new project with the newly edited video then I add more effects. We used to use that that method to record songs on 4 track recorders back in the 80s. There has to be a better way but I don't know it
With the Transform effect, you can zooming, pan, or tilt a clip. This works within certain bounds. For example if you tilt too much, you'll see the edges of the clip which will be black.
Hey TJ FREE, is there any way to add a Bookmark or Comment in the timeline? Really a good video. People Who disliked the video are Premier pro users or Linux Haters :D :D
Yes, there are 2 ways. Press "G" and type in a short description. These are called guides. To see a complete list for the project, go to Menu/View/Guides. You can also enter project notes. Go to Menu/View/Project Notes. Project notes can be entered with a timecode, precise down to the frame level.
