Cool! Note for Linux users: On my system, Fedora 35, the VR effects were not available when using the distro's packaged version. The AppImage version had all the effects you discuss.

A library of prefab and animated titles like in Cyberlink PowerDirector and WeVideo would be a great, really useful addition to Kdenlive. For the stuff I do that's really the one thing it's missing. Getting professional results from scratch is time consuming.

Thanks much for some interesting animation ideas. Most helpful is use of effects that I have not tried before. Your presentation has whetted my appetite!

Well done for delving into VR. I see you searched for VR and it brought up VR and 3D. Now that you've tested VR effects will your next Kdenlive video be on the 3D ones? 😊

thanks for the video, but effect VR360 and 3D has only one option: stereoscopic 3D. thats all 😞 I use version 23.04.1. Can I download the other filters somewhere?

Hi Danny VR! Thanks for the question - Just for clarity, are you using the Linux version? If so, are you using the AppImage installer? This one historically has the most success mapping in all the effect plug-ins. Presently I'm using the AppImage with 23.04.1 and can see all the VR choices - Hope that helps!

Hi! I have Microsoft, but as danny It doesn't appear to me any of these 360 effects. What could be the solution? Thank you in advance.@@Photolearningism

@@cantodelmar Thank you for the details! I've been looking at the filter packages and trying to trace out where the VR effects come from - it doesn't look to be a part of the primary effects package (which is from frei0r). I'm hoping to find the source, which may give some insight into how they could be loaded. I'll let you know if anything turns up!

I did some digging in the Windows version (running Windows 10) and interestingly I found that if I loaded the latest present version (23.04.3), the VR effects do all appear. Being that the Windows version installers use an "in-place upgrade" approach for Kdenlive, I'm wondering if the config has become askew from the overwrite and update process. It may be worth uninstalling Kdenlive (I'd advise FIRST ensuring your project files are in a safe location), then running a fresh install with the latest version to see if that possibly loads in all the effects. Hope that helps!

KDEnlive is free as in freedom... where as DaVinci is free as in not having to pay for it...

Hi Skeleton_craft Gamming! Thank you for the comment! I agree that open source (Kdenlive) tools do bring with them the likelihood for unexpected issues. This is often the trade off for using a resource that is completely free of charge. However, the advantage with open source is that new features are typically provided more quickly and can give more flexibility and competitive edge when creating. Also, with community open source projects, everyone has more influence into how the tool is shaped. Regarding DaVinci, it is indeed a very competent tool and can do many things! For my part, It is quite a large install and will provide free features up to a point (pay-gates come into play for the premium version). Determining which tool to use always comes down to strategy and priority of the creator needs. There are certainly use cases where free open source tools have a strong case and others where commercially developed tools are superior. Thank you so much for checking out this video!
