This was a great movie but the end was very sad. Kai was a man of honor and courage ABOVE those required to be a samurai. He learned the lighting fast technique of the yellow robed priests and could beat any samurai.
Did anyone else notice, when the killing started, not one yellow mound moved, yes there was movement, yes it was someone in yellow, but the ones bowed never once moved. But that was a trick, if you look through, not a single mound moved. That was the test, seeing the trick as well as the reality, His training saved his and his men's lives
Well, it wouldn't have been the same movie. Keanu is great for the sword and fighting scenes, but not as believable in military leadership. Plus, he simply does not convey a wide range of emotion.
There is only three Matrix films and the Animatrix animated series. No fourth film yet just as there is only two trilogies, original and prequel. There is novels, comics and games.
I think Keeanu reves was actually the wrong choice as an actor for this movie... he doesnt seem like a Ancient swordsman of the demon clan he fully acts as if he's John wick... and idk it wasnt fitting
@@superHane123 That may have more to do with which studios were behind it than the quality of the movie. Probably a confluence of various studios rather than a single major studio. Couple that with a limited theatrical release.
I actually think it is part of his charming, plus the fact that he is known to be like the nicest celebrity on the planet. You just can’t help but like him even if his acting is wooden.
Perhaps not from a modern point of view. But it makes perfect sense in the context of the era. As ronin, they no longer have the rank, authority or privileges of samurai. In terms of rank, they are no different from peasants now. The fact is they assassinated a noble. Whether or not their cause was just doesn't matter, only that they raised their swords against their superiors. For that, the crime is treason and the punishment is death.
When you cannot do anything good with your left, you can always hate, same for the decline of marvel movies etc, the movies are good, but times are hard nad everyone loves seeing a big company fall, jealousy.
Who ever wrote this movie never had any contact with someone in the military. You listen to orders and don't question. Let alone ignore your commanders repeated pleas... Isn't there a name for that in movies when they break their own rules in order to move a plot along?
@@starhalv2427 There's creative freedom, and then there's wholesale re-writing from scratch. If you know the original story, you see that they ONLY thing they retained, was the number 47 in the title. lol
@@Maplecook yea, I know the original story (Except I have poor memory for names). Still, I don't think they had some kind of obligation to follow the events 1 for 1 in that movie (Especially since some parts of the story vary between different versions, so we don't exactly know what happened that night, only the gist of it). But I didn't watch the movie, so I can only assume that the number 47 isn't the only thing they kept. Tho I do understand, that seeing fictional elements and foreigner protagonist added to a Japanese story can be seen as a bad thing, and I don't necessarily disagree. This story definitely does deserve a completely faithful depiction.
This movie was such garbage and a disappointment, we wanted the movie to be about him and his abilities fighting and killing dragons but no we get his same wooden acting and the movie followed that other asian guy more and keanu dies like a weakling seppuku so stupid he shoulda went kamikazi at least in a crazy battle scene.
.... It's based on a historical event. While this may be one of the wilder imaginings of the 47 ronin the ending is absolutely critical to the story. Changing it would be like retelling Remember the Alamo but having the Texans survive. And going "kamikaze" as you suggest would be the absolute worst thing he could possibly do in that situation and would ruin everything he worked for.

all about this movie was great, except some small things such as main character is not a japanese and a japanese theme movie but not using japanese language.
Keanu Reeves is one of my favorite actors but it's true that got a very specific way to act and in most film he play very similar characters . They just write the script for him not for the story / film himself . he is sooo good .
