Another great bit of kit Richard. It’s got all those features I’ve ever wanted in a trail cam and all the ones I’ve used have never had so will definitely be looking it up. Cheers Keith

Proper review that Richard, you covered everything and more. Theyre a cracking camera, really useful and brilliant to be able to get the motion alerts anywhere anytime. Nice one pal 👊

Thanks Si, it's a cracking bit of kit and I'll likely invest in another one at some point for the area of the woods with the ponds to see what wildlife visits. Cheers Rich 👍

Hi Richard. As usual a thoroughly well presented review as expected from you. As a trail camera fan myself( I use bushnell) I just can’t get over why anyone would go to the effort of putting a camo scheme on a product and then plaster their brand in white on the front of it. It looks a nice product and I will keep an eye on it. Many thanks

Hi Martin, thanks for watching and leaving a comment, it really is a great bit of kit and I will certainly be ordering another one very soon. Also my only complaint is the KEEN writing in white! Why on earth would you do that!!!!!! I have since covered that up with camo tape, the logic seems lost to be honest., lol.... Hopefully that will get changed. Cheers Rich

Ya great piece of kit !! Always wanted to get one ! But you’ve got it made , your own piece of land & on a badger 🦡 set just fantastic! Sadly on public land to risky for me ! Even with permission !! Just can’t trust members of public !! But a great review !!! Perfectly set already for the spring & the badgers 🦡!! Take care craig

Thanks Craig, I'm very lucky indeed and have since captured some video of our Roe Buck and a Stoat! They really are a game changer in terms of capture, if you put it high enough I doubt any thieves could reach it without a ladder! I do get the odd Trespasser on Camera but they failed to see it! You are right though, people can't be trusted these days! Cheers Rich - Missing you videos, hope you are still getting out and the family are keeping well?

The camera has an interesting shape. It looks really good. I really like the solar panel so you do not need to change batteries. The footage is quiet nice too. Greets Stefan

Hi Richard, I currently have 3 PT Go Plus cameras out in the field on badger setts under licence. I have found them to be a fantastic bit of kit while studying the badgers movements and behaviours 100% better than the normal trailcam, I'm hoping to get my hands on the keen ranger in the near future so I can compare it with the Go plus. best of luck with everything.
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett Год назад
Thanks very much Bernard, they are so much better and less restrictive that the standard trail camera, I don't think you'll be disappointed with it, I'm going to get another at some point soon. Thanks again, all the very best Rich 👍

Hi Richard. This looks great. Can I just ask about the SIM cards. I have a few Sky mobile sims (so basically O2) would one of these work so i can use my Sky piggyback to top up data as and when required OR does it have to be a pay as you go sim? Cheers Andy
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett 3 месяца назад
Hi Andy, they should work fine as long as they are nano sims and the network allows them to work with cameras and you get a data only pay as you go, you can also use a data contract if that's a cost effective option? Cheers Rich

Great review. I've got one coming tomorrow. Currently got territorial roe deer bucks active so would like to capture them. There are tawnys around during the year too, so hope to catch some of them. I'm up the north West Coast of Scotland so potential for otters or pine martens too. I have a few questions. - Does the camera pan on its own to follow the animals, or is the panning purely controlled by the app? I think from what I've seen, its just app controlled. - it'll record whether i acknowledge the animal detection notification or not, correct. Looks a great bit of kit.
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett Год назад
Thanks very much for watching. 1. The camera doesn't auto pan on the subject, controlled with phone or computer. 2. It will recored regardless of your actions. It's such a great bit of kit and has helped be so much in terms of results with the camera and reducing my time in the field studying the subjects. Although thats half the fun of it, time is always the tricky part! All the best Rich👍

Hey Richard, looking to use one of these in my young forestry plantation, to spot any deer that get through the deer fence.. how long do you think the battery/solar power will last? is your battery fully topped up with the location you chose? i'm looking to put it in direct sunlight (but in scotland its pretty grey most of the time, especially in winter) only usually visit the site every 3-4 months so hoping it would last this long?
@RichardBirchett

Hi there, thanks for watching the vlog, sounds like it would be ideal for you. My solar panel gets dappled light throughout peak times of the day and lasts 2 months on average, if it was in a position facing the sun with uninterrupted light it wouldn't need charging at all, that I am confident about. I have to take a power bank up and attach it to fully charge it again which doesn't take long, a warning comes to your phone when the power gets to 30%, it would be ideal and doesn't always need full sun. I'm moving it soon to an owl box which faces south with nothing hindering it's panel. Any more questions please ask. Cheers Rich 👍

Hi Richard, if i was to install one of these into my barnowl barn would it detect them? I asume it will as its motion detection(just making sure)😁
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett Год назад
Hi Sam, thanks for watching my review. As long as the Barn Owl box was within the max 33 ft range you will be fine, you can also pan and move if its outside of this range where you can just watch them without the trigger. It's ideal for Owls, I'm installing another one for my Tawny Box. They are superb and I doubt you'd be disappointed. If you have any more questions please ask. Cheers R

Hi Richard! My name is David and I'm from north central Ohio here in the US. I mostly photograph wildlife with my main love being predator birds. I have been watching your reviews on tragopan v6 and I'm very interested. You did a wonderful job on your review and since joining your channel I see your just flat out GOOD at reviews lol. I wish tragopan would come out with some different camo colors. Like a 3d hardwoods. Something with more browns and black. Do you still use the v6? Anyway you have a new member my friend. 😊
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett Год назад
Hi David, welcome to the channel and thanks very much for your kind words it's always really appreciated. I love Tragopan products as they are first class in design and build quality, but I totally agree some colours could be added tot he collection, I'll speak to the team and ask if any other colours are being investigated. I have a V6 and love it, very versatile and is my go to hide for the majority of my hide work, other models like the Monal are used when more room is required and the Hokki for low down work when needed. You won't go far wrong with the V6 and it will be great to get close encounters of your Ospreys. Thanks again Richard 👍

If you have a solar panel do you really need to take the camera down to charge it?
@RichardBirchett
@RichardBirchett 8 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching. No, but if it isn’t charging to full capacity due to being deep in the woodland and reduced light on the panel it won’t charge fully. In an open site with direct sunlight without obstructions it would be completely fine. Cheers Richard 👍

@RichardBirchett

Only a slight noise heard from phone or computer when panning. Faint noise heard, have tracked deer & fox when panning at it’s not affected any behaviour. Cheers Richard 👍
