Slayer for the win. I don't know how they missed death metal, so I'm with you on that. Morbid Angel (up to Domination) is a constant listen for me. Entombed Left Hand Path, the rest I can do without. Obituary is underrated. However, credit to black metal because it is more eclectic than other metal genre's, so anyone who has it pigeon holed doesn't know what they're talking about. It's also more accepting of experimentalism, despite what outsiders think. Arcturus, Ulver, Enslaved, Borknagar even Burzum but I'm not such a fan. Folk black metal is always interesting. My favourite black metal band, Immortal, has, like Enslaved, become more grove based sometimes and I have no problem with that.

the fact that the video basically talks about nothing that happened after the 90's just shows how little Metal evolved since then

I'm totally with you on Guns N Roses. Yeah they had a punk element, but they're very much synonymous with the hair metal bands (as is Def Leppard)

Holy shit that was the most hipster ass video on metal lol yeah the metal hipster obsession with black metal and doom metal is so bizarre to me. Most of that stuff isn’t really that good or popular but you see it on these “best of” lists. When you listen to it, it’s so mid or just a straight up snooze fest. Keep up the good fight Finn keeping hipsters out of metal and focusing on the true king of metal MGK.

I feel like everyone is giving Limp Bizkit too much credit, with calling them “Nu-Metal” no offense to fans of their but I feel like they aren’t even that. They are “Frat-house Rock” because they’re just spitting rhymes & barely making good music from it.
@mpls1982

Limp bizkit was absolutely nu metal and made some great songs. I doubt many frats were bumpin' much limp bizkit, at least not that I remember back then. They are still a huge draw on tour. Me thinks you're being a bit of a hater.

First of all, Raining Blood was the last song I played on Spotify. This is also why I say I’m a metalhead who likes artisan coffee and works at a local outdoor apparel store, and not a hipster lol. Also, I was deceived and dissatisfied by Kiss. The same thing happened with Ghost for me. I might like the bands if my first impression wasn’t so underwhelming.
