Memorizing what time to do what and how to do it is tough for an average person like me, but following your channel I get to know exactly when and how to do what to my lawn. Thank you so much for making my lawn care life much easier!

I really appreciate that! Yeah, it can definitely be hard to keep track of everything with the right timing. Showing my regular routine in regards to timing will be most of the content I put out. Thank you for watching!!

I guess most of you would think I am crazy. I am planning to take a cordless Vacuum cleaner and vacuum up the dandelions seeds from my neighbor’s yard. It is covered in dandelion. I then plan to spread it over my 20 acres 😂. Its excellent for the soil and the critters I plan to raise there. Hope to get lots of other “weeds” growing there as well. Terry

Thank you for watching! It's pretty awesome to hear how people do different things for their property. I would have never thought about sucking them up with a vacuum cleaner though. My girls love blowing the "white puff balls", so I should send them your way to help spread the dandelions.haha

Great video! I have a dandelion picker that works really well, pulls the root out almost every time. I find it funny with the granular weed & feed that a lot people don’t read the directions. Most of them are to be applied to a wet lawn after the weeds have emerged. Keep the vidz coming…

Thanks for watching! Yeah I think a ton of people miss some of the critical directions with things like weed and feed. It's just so readily available and is advertised as a cure all, that people flock to it. I think it could be good, but needs the right circumstances. I appreciate the comment!

I’m in a constant battle with my neighbors weeds trying to invade my yard. I use selective herbicides for the creeping Charlie and wild violet that comes into my yard.

I have a very similar experience with a couple of the yards next to mine.haha I typically make sure I'm spraying the boundary pretty good whenever I put down any kind of weed control. I sometimes feel like I'm downwind from a dandelion field.haha Thank you for watching! I always nice to hear other people's experiences.

I love speedzone it is one of the best. I used it after I do my preamergant for spot straying to kill what came up before the preamergant app.

Yeah it's the best stuff I've used. It costs a little more, but the piece of mind it gives knowing the weeds are in trouble is worth the price.haha Thank you for watching!

Great work, what are your thoughts on Tenacity?

I haven't ever used it personally, but I helped one of my friends use it on his yard. The thing that I like about it is that it is one of the few herbicides you can use when you seed. If you have weed problems, but still want to seed it is a good choice!

So when the temp for weed control says it’s safe to spray up to 90 degrees, can u spray it early morning even though it will be 95 later that afternoon??? Thanks!
@OutoftheWeeds
@OutoftheWeeds Год назад
That's an excellent question. I would recommend not applying on a day that exceeds the temp rating at any point to be safe, but depending on your grass, you may be ok. You'll have a higher chance of injuring the grass if it is stressed. So, depending on how much you are watering your lawn would factor in, as well as grass type. For example tall fescue does better in heat than kentucky bluegrass, so if your lawn is kbg, you would have a higher chance of injury. Another important factor is your grass types sensitivity to the herbicide you are using. If you google search "turfgrass herbicide sensitivity chart" you will find charts that show you what grasses are sensitive or tolerant to different herbicides. So if the herbicide you are using for your grass is listed to be sprayed but is sensitive, then there is a higher chance the high temps could hurt the grass. I wish the answer was simple yes or no, so that's why I typically play on the side of being safe. Hope this info helps. Thanks for watching!

I'm just starting out trying to get a pretty lawn. my lawn has a lot of weeds 1 1/2 acres I had soil test run they told me what I needed, but not really sure I did everything right. I mowed first which not sure I should have then I bought a pull behind sprayer and used amine 24D about 2 weeks ago it does look like lot of weeds are dying but not all. so, my questions (1) should I have sprayed first and mowed later? (2) should I have put down the fertilizer and lime like soil test said I needed after or before I sprayed? (3) how long before I can spray again? Thanks,
@OutoftheWeeds
@OutoftheWeeds Год назад
Thanks for watching! It sounds like you did a really good job with it overall. Mowing first was definitely the right move. I'd always make sure to mow ahead of time before applying any weed control. You could put down the fertilizer either time, it shouldn't have an impact unless you're doing liquid fert. If that's the case, then I'd give it time between the applications. Also, I would typically wait at least 30 days to re-apply the 24D. It's a good sign if you are seeing a lot of weeds dying. With that big of a yard, some weeds are going to naturally sneak through. It is also possible that the 24D may not be as effective towards the rest of the weeds (may be a different type of weed). I would give it time, re-apply if needed, and then check the yard more closely to what type of weeds are left, and then formulate a plan after that. Just be sure to not use more than the max amount for the year (should be on the label). Sorry for the long reply, I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you ever have questions! I appreciate you watching!
