In this video, I'll be talking about Pre-emergents to prevent crabgrass and dandelions, 2 popular weeds that come up in the Spring time. I hate crabgrass, dandelions and clovers as much as the jets, cheats and fish. nice video thanks for the tips hope they help my sick lawn.

Do you water with the DIY above ground sprinkler every day? Or do you water it once a week?

Could the pre emergent（red bag) be used with Nitrogen fertilizer? lots of RU-vidr did in this way. But I remember the instructions of corn gluten said No.

Usually I don't mix the 2, the (red bag) contains about 9-10% nitrogen in it and I've found in my experience that this works for me. Typically u put it down in the early spring and since there is usually a ton of rain during this time, I find this causes more than enough top growth.

Great video! I live in Rochester. When is a good time to put down pre-emergent? With “April showers” Will that ruin the full effect of the pre emergent? Thanks

It's still a little bit early yet, gotta wait for ground Temps to get closer to 45-55 degrees range. Rain won't ruin the full effect as pre emergents need to be watered in anyways.

I mowed lawn today and I have a couple flowered dandadilions ... but mostly have just the plants... is it too late to use a pre emergent??? Last week you told me to wait.. !?

If your soil temp is around 45-55 degrees then you can put down your pre emergent. It will help stop new plants from coming up, but the ones that already flowered were probably dormant from last year, if it's not too many than I would pull by hand.

Yes, the bag I used in the video says Scott's Turf Builder in big letters, it also says weed prevent and pre emergent Dandelion and Large crab grass inhibitor.

I want to take on my lawn myself and looking for an easy way out with no calculations. I will only do my front lawn...........one bag covers 1,000 sq. ft. Can I use one bag and use the setting on my spreader to cover 1,000 sq. ft. Be kind, it's just me, myself, and I..........a good team but very much afraid of burning my lawn. Thanks.

I had the same concerns when I started taking care of my lawn, the best thing you can do to start is measure your lawn by either measuring tape or walk it then do simple Length times width to give you Sq ft. Write it down, make a map so you always know how much of the bag to use. Whenever you throw down grass seed or fertilizer just always make sure to water it in, I always wait till it starts raining then I go do it.
