This show was such a delight! I loved its pragmatism about the industry and its deep appreciation for the art. The characters were delightfully real and refreshing!

Even though it’s been a little over three years now, I still wish this had a season 2. I’ve never related to an anime so much more than this one.

The character design is SO refreshing.

If you pay attention to the spiraling panel sequence, midori's is very chaotic and disorganized, mizusaki's is slightly more orderly but still overlaps and stuff, and then finally kanamori's is perfectly neat squares. A cool touch.

Gotta appreciate the smaller details like the fact that Kanamori is the more organized and monetarily focused so her squares at 0:52 are more neat and fitting than the others who are imaginative.

One thing I noticed was the OP's use of shape language to show personality; in the first few dance moves, a square pattern appears behind kanamori, circles behind midori, and diamonds appear behind mizusaki. Their posture also reflects the shapes behind them.

The dance motions really follow each girl's personality: Kanamori's moves are all super rigid and made with intensity, since she's the realist of the group. Midori is wild and all over the place but in very small amounts, showing off her vivid imagination and curiosity in the world, but also the fact that she's not very sociable. Mizusaki's moves are elegant and stylish, highlighting how she's from the 'upper crust' and her specialty in character movement.

Finally- japanese schoolgirls portrayed realistically
