With God's help i plan tp grow microgreens & sprouts this year plus try growing herbs like fennel, dill, basil & chives etc. I am in NE Texas & last year it was so hot for so long that it was really hard gardening. I am also planning to grow sunflowers, nastursiums, mint & borage for eating in salads.

That sounds like a fabulous plan! Do you plant in garden boxes or in the ground? Have you tried using drip tape? We have the garden boxes right outside the kitchen door on a deck but we also have a garden in the back yard as well and we are planting borage too!

Some things i plant in the ground. i have 3 separate garden areas. One on the north side of the house. One on the south side of the house. And also a shade garden. I haven't done drip tape yet. I think about it but i haven't gotten it done. I guess i have enjoyed 'playing' in the hose water in the hot seasons where i live. lol My north garden is in ground. My south garden is big tubs from protein licks for livestock. My shade garden is smaller planters & totes. Living in the country surrounded by hay fields & my property surrounded by trees I get lots of moles, voles, squirrels, opposums, raccoons, rats & mice who try to visit my garden areas & escape the scheduled haying activities. So i have had to learn how to 'defend' my food lol.

@@Kat-Knows ah! Fun times! It sounds quite dreamy♥️ it’s such a good wholesome lifestyle. Learning how to co-habitat with critters is a dance for sure. I’m not sure if there’s ever a winner 😂

Loved this, and I too love a fresh salad. Do you make your own salad dressing? And what is the little black tubing I see in the box.? Is that for watering the lettuce straight into the dirt, instead of watering from above?

Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes! The black tubing is a mini drip tape system we set up for watering. So easy! It has small holes that “drip” water around the plants. You just attach it to a hose, turn the water in and walk away. A win-win!
