Nice review B.....but you didn't mention anything about sizing! I'm roughly the same stature as yourself so im curious what size jacket and pant you were wearing? Thanks!!!
Hi Fred. Thanks for weatching and your question. I am wearing a large even though I am XL in all t-shirts and tops. Its so I have a sung fit under my motorcycle jacket. I am 6'2' broad shoulders. Hope that helps. Cheers. Billy
Just a point about Laying up.. Laying up after an hour or so insulates the cold in ,then you cannot get warm nomatter. Bill I would not fancy a pair of Keis gloves due to the fact that there no heat in the fingers,, I have long fingers and my fingers get cold and painfull ,heated grips are of little use with that condition. I use my old Alpinestars heated glove(nolonger produce) and they work a treat.. In my view,, doing long trips in winter one should have a ellecy heated full jacket and H/gloves as bare minimin ,,pants are optional extra.. Last word Ellecy gear is great but its best to carry with you extra cloths just in case of a misfortune,(stuff happens) cheers
Hi lipsee100. Thanks for watching and you comments. Agree on having something heated. My winter trip last year was so toasty thanks to the Keis kit. The gloves work for me in combo with heated grips on really cold days. I understand that long cold fingers do require a bit more. I did have the heated pants on as well and it was awesome. on a 4 hour 1 degree trip I did not feel cold once. Always card an extra layer to help just in case. Cheers. Billy
HI. Since you posted this video fro some time now, I was wondering how did the gloves stood up the test of time in terms of waterproofing. I live in UK and i'm considering the G701s but they are not cheap so need to make sure they are actually waterproof. Most people say they are but thre is the occasional person that says they are not waterproof and they leak eventually ...
Hi mate. Thanks for watching and your question! TBH, all my gloves have leaked at some stage (depending on the weather). In fairness to Keis their gloves are no better no worse. They are waterproof. I do not know what the Hydrostatic Head is on them but I have worn them through a couple of winters now and happy with them. Unless laminated they will let in water eventually if out all day and heavy rain other than that they are great
Layering up doesn't work when you get older. The problem is when your core gets cold then your body is not giving off any heat to trap in the layers. I have had 6 layers on (off the bike), and still feel cold. I'm looking at this jacket or the gillet, I want it on and off the bike. How does this compare with Gerber on cost and functionality?
Hi there. I can 't comment on the Gerber as I have never worn it. I always get to warm or too cold when layering up so having the controlled heating jacket, gloves and trousers allows me to control the heat and feel comfy warm. Sorry I can't help more on the Gerber. I will look in to that. Cheers. Billy
Hi billy you like me know what’s the best I’d never be without mine and with there warranty you cannot got wrong nice share full gear keis heated apparel 👍👍🙏
bark busters or wind deflectors for your hands then ski gloves, 2 x t-shirts a jumper my normal bike jacket with the liner , balaclava ladies tights, and I'm as snug as a bug for 2 hours job done saved a fortune. waterproofs just in case for all-day riding and I'm 62 years of age.
HI Mick. Thanks for watching and you comment. Like I said, heated clothing is not for everyone. Its great that you are toasty layered up. Stay safe. Billy
Hi Steve. Thank for watching and your question. No. The @keisappareluk trousers have a separate controller to the jacket but can be powered by one cable from your battery to the jacket which connects to your trousers. Both controllers from the jacket and trousers are on the same side and easy to access and operate when riding. Ref sizing, I am 6'2' 44 chest and wear 54 size. You want a snug fit for the jacket. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers. Billy
@@BillysBikeAdventures Hi billy thank you so much for the quick response. I already have the jacket and bought from Sportsbikeshop. I have credit from them and was wondering Trouser size as it is different from Keis own website. I do end up paying for returns as I live in NI and controller is out of stock for 32 weeks. Why I asked if one controller can run both. Bluetooth on a phone seems a waste of time TBH even though I do have my phone mounted on the bike but with winter gloves that allows me to use smartphone it is still faff.
@@Steve--RR666 I agree I don't understand why they have introduced BT as an option to control the temperate. Much more dangerous whilst riding. My trousers are size 52 I am 6'2' and 34-36 waist. Length on them are great and again a snug fit. Is the controller out of stock at Keis or Sports Bike Shop?
Great video I agree with you the only problem I have is the jacket is just too small as they are reasonably close I’m going to ask if they will make a bigger one for me 👍
@@BillysBikeAdventures no bud I’ve even gone to Hideout they can alter everything to fit but it’s the wiring inside stops Kate altering big enough the biggest is 50 chest I’m 55 🤪🤓🏍👍👍
When you are describing where the heating elements are on back of the jacket ,you say they are only on the upper part of the back. But it’s the lower back I e kidneys we need the heat. Or did I get your description wrong?
HI Ivor. There are heating elements for the lower back as well, but I definitely feel it more on the upper back. Having spent a few days wearing this kit in temps ranging -3 - 2 degrees, the warmth I get from the jacket means that I am not cold at all Hope that helps. Cheers. Billy
As soon as your thinking about the cold your probably suffering the early stages of hyperthermia !. This gear is potentially life saving stuff !, highly recommended, it's like taking a hot soak in the bath while riding leaving you to concentrate on more important things ! Ps sorry about the essay but it has to be said 👍❤️👍
HI Bob. Thanks for watching and you comment. Couldn't agree more. When you switch the power on its like warm water is being poured over you. Stay safe. Billy
Ditching all the insulated layers for electric gear would worry me, in case of breakdown. If you have to wait a while for breakdown services or other help and can't run the electric gear, you could get REALLY cold.
Hi Chris. It's a great point to make, however, heated gear or not I always take an extra couple of layers. The difference between stationary and 40 mph in the cold is the on and off button of the heated clothing so should not be that bad. Thanks for watching Cheers. Billy
Hi, just wondered if you are still using this kit and how it has stood the test of time? Any negatives?e. albeit 9 months....keep the videos coming, I appreciate how long they take to do. 👍
HI gsd3212. Thanks for watching, your comments and question! All kit still in great condition and working order. TO be honest there are no negatives. That said I have not used the gloves with the battery pack so unable to say what the comfort is like when riding. So in order to power the gloves on their own I would have to use the long cable that comes with them like we used to have when we were kids, gloves on string if that makes sense. So i nearly always wear the sleeved jacket with the gloves as they connect to each other as the jacket has the cable fitted inside the jacket. Still keeps me warm and able to feel toasty when riding in cold weather. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers. Billy
We purchase heated jacket first. Week after we got trousers as well. Could you please tell me could I control heat in trousers from jacket remote or I need to buy extra for trousers as well. Thank you
Hi Sin. Thanks for watching and your question. You will need a separate controller for the trousers. Power supplied via the jacket from the battery but two controllers required, 1 each for the jacket and trousers. Any more questions please let me know. Cheers. Billy
Hi Stocks77. Thanks for watching and your comment. Gutted for you that you don't find them beneficial. I get on with them great. Like many items of motorbike kit, some will get on with them some won't. Cheers. Billy
