I don't think so. You gotta understand, this guy is a clinical narcissist. He has always needed to feel better and more important than everyone else. So, these ideas of grandeur and godliness and being all these famous people in other lives, being a leader of the last days, they fullfil a need in him (and others) to truly lift themselves up above others. I think he really believed in a lot of it (not the zombies thing - that was definitely for the sake of having an excuse to remove people he thought of as obstacles). Lori and Melanie had told many people the zombie story and how Charles would be gone soon. Why didn’t Melanie G come forward before more children and family members were taken out. Melanie G was the closest friend to Lori...is she that clueless? She writes books on her spirituality....what the hell! I am not buying it. Why is she being called a HERO in all of this....the REAL HEROS were the many neighbors family members and past friends who sounded the alarm bells before Tylee, J.J., and Tammy were killed. Nobody listened to them until it was to late. Melanie didn’t go to the police....they came looking for her. I am so disgusted. @@mountaingirl1995 To my knowledge it's not yet known what order they died in but there are multiple reports about how protective Tylee was of JJ. Colby also talked about how Tylee reacted to JJs adoption. He basically said she instantly took to him and kind of commited to taking care of him immediately. JJ meant a lot to Tylee so I think that's what they mean.
She wasn't concerned about anybody else - until Lori threw her under the bus by telling the police that JJ was with her. Then she became concerned - about herself.

Melanie G. told Nate that she thought Lori and Chad got rid of demons by "praying them out of people, because that's what Jesus did." But in the probable cause warrant for Lori's arrest, it states that Melanie G. told police that Lori told her the only way to free a possessed person's soul from limbo was by killing the body/person. Melanie KNEW those kids' lives were in danger the moment Lori said they were "zombies," and she did nothing.

This is happening in my husbands hometown , and where we lived until the last few years. We lived a mile away from Chad, and I actually worked with Chad’s brother. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and gut wrenching. I absolutely hate how this gets associated with the LDS church when this is the absolute opposite of what the LDS religion believes and teaches. Chad and Lori and others who are seeking whatever it is they are, are doing the work of the devil, and the LDS church has warned people about staying clear from teachings anywhere close to this. Sad now people are now thinking these are teachings of the LDS religion when they are what the religion teaches it’s members and others to stay far away from anything close to what Chad was spewing! His brother and extended family do NOT agree with his whacked up beliefs, nor have they ever, and warned him against what he was Preaching. Chad met Lori, a woman he would was madly attracted to and wanted her to himself, so he came up with this whacked out disturbing ideas that evil spirits he would call Zombies took over Lori’s husband and then kids. Hmm, did she ever wonder why it was only her family members who were so called “zombies”? Those two had an agenda, they wanted to be together at all costs, and Charles, Tylee, JJ, and Tammy got in their way and paid the ultimate price. So horribly devastating. Arizona PD should be ashamed of themselves for failing all these victims. Even after Charles went to them several times pleading for help, they did nothing then, and NOTHING after he was murdered closing the case as his murder was self-defense! @Claude Bawls I just wanted to let you know I was born and raised in the LDS church and spent 38 years of my life in it. I left because in my belief the church is a fraud and was built on a fraud. I don't believe it is true. I feel I wasted many years of my life with countless hours of service to the church. We left in 1992 after I spent five years investigating the claims of the church and discovered IMO it was not true. That all being said I have friends and family who are LDS. I know the beliefs are bizarre to most. But I feel it is just important for people to understand that Chad and Lori were not following "standard" LDS teachings as strange as they are to many including me. No offense taken but thanks!
While I agree with most of your comments regarding Chad and Lori not representing the LDS faith, there IS a lot of gray area in the LDS faith that can cause confusion for a lot of people. For instance many in the faith believe God has a wife? They call her heavenly mother? That’s not biblical. I’ve heard some bizarre things about the supposed pre existence so when you say they (Chad and Lori) were off the wall in their beliefs, well that’s not true. I feel the missionaries when they proselytize don’t tell the whole truth. Once you get into the faith you find out some weird teachings. If you ask questions, you are shut down. You are also told not to research as you may uncover some inconvenient truths. I love the LDS people and most members are good people who genuinely want to help people but unfortunately a lot of the teachings are false. The most important thing I would like to leave with you is this: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I hate the term “closure” in situations like this. There is no closure. Closure is what you get after keying a cheating ex’s vehicle. There is grief, questions, anger, helplessness and a plethora of other emotions in a situation like this. Losses that a lifetime could never bring “closure” for.

Lots of people refer to their kids as little zombies and little monsters. Child services, the police and even the grandparents would not have seen red flags that would cause them to charge, investigate or take away the children. Unfortunately, it's just that simple.

Margie Stultz no what she was saying is that she thought that chad was a nice person and that she liked him. Meaning, it was her initial feelings upon meeting him. Like someone can say “Margie and Devon are nice people and I like them” then that same person can say “I don’t like them their evil”. Doesn’t make someone a liar. First impressions is one thing and then truly realizing their mean and evil is another thing. People assumed Lori was a nice person, people loved Lori, she was a good mom, she was always on top of JJs school and made it her business to give him further help. I’ll give another example (celeb) you can assume Kylie Jenner is a good and caring person, but then after getting to know her you just think she’s pure evil and selfish. Same thing applies to Melanie Gibbs she thought he was nice and many other did as well. That’s why people had followed him and his “practices/teachings”, but now they think he’s evil and a murderer. She also says her heart is breaking because she knows how tough jail is on Lori and she is separated from her true love, Chad. This is months *after* the last conversation she had with Lori in which she supposedly told them they were evil. Make no mistake. She still cares deeply for these people.
I think she even said Lori told her she was going to be with Chad but Tammy needed to die first, how do you not cut if that "friend" and call the police at that point? She probably could have saved Tammy's life.
Cops would have simply placated Melanie G and laughed about her when they get together on Saturday nights to top each other's stories over some pizza and a few beers.

Wasn’t a tragic love affair more fatal attraction...the meeting of evil minds. I think killing the kids to these monsters was easy for them what will really hurt is making sure they never see, speak or able to communicate with each other in any capacity even letters or via messages from people no visitors nothing. Why couldn’t they have just had affair or divorced. No one had to die.

he made it sound like Melanie Gibb cooperated with police the minute Lori and Chad asked her to lie about JJ being with her but in fact that was November 26th and Melanie Gibb didnt come clean with LE until December 6th after continually talking to Lori and Chad during that time...while they went to CA and while they went to Hawaii while LE was looking for them. I am very glad she is now cooperating but it took awhile.
Sandy Fox. You are right about Melanie Gibb. She lied to the police, waited 10 days to change her statement. And, entrapped Lori and Chad with that recorded phone conversation--so that she can extricate herself from possible charges of lying to the police in the first place. It was all about her.
When Melanie G. Went to visit Lori in Rexburg Lori came out and said JJ was a zombie, Melanie had brought her boyfriend David with her. JJ started acting up lori calls Alex from his apt a door down from lori. Alex shows up and takes JJ to.his apt. Then Alex comes back later with what appears to be a sleeping JJ. and it looked sweet to.David that JJ would be snuggled up to Alex. Sometime during the night JJ is taken again by Alex per Lori. The last time Melanie saw JJ alive was while she was visiting, JJ's disappearance happened while Melanie G. And her boyfriend David were there. You think being she doesn't see JJ before she leaves it would make her wonder because Charles was deemed a zombie and now he is dead and what about Tylee ? Melanie the hints were the red flags that were flagging at you and you ignored it.
He was such a wuss on the witness stand-- whereas he was bright and perky on the interview. The guy left his wife and 7 kids to take up with Melanie . 1 who left her husband and 4 kids. See the parallels? These birds of the same feather flock together. No surprise that JJ and Tylee missing for months was not a concern to these two.

The thing that makes this so fascinating is how they thought they could get away with it all. They thought they were beyond justice. When they called people for alibis or to give false testimony speaks volumes; they thought they deserved protection. Chad’s religious teachings, his crazy theology, are rooted in the teachings of Mormonism. Living on different planets? Plenty of references in 19th century leaders’ sermons and in what missionaries taught my family 50 years ago. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-The Mormons-may have publicly retreated from some of its early teachings but Chad didn’t make them up even if may have moved some pieces around to fit his designs with Lori and his followers.
Murdering 'zombie' children, committing adultery, burning human bodies, committing felonies,pendulums and MANY of the things Chad taught and did go 100% against the gospel and doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But you already know that if you grew up in the LDS Church. ALL 'branch-off' religions retain some or much of the original doctrine, but then stretch it, re-weave it or invent and add on other beliefs to supplement them into their own unique religion that is not true to the original. Just looking at the books that Chad wrote, he did start straying from the beliefs of his early religion, but then added so many anti-beliefs that his little (we assume) 'cult' does not much resemble it. Over time he, Melanie G and Lori were all excommunicated from the LDS Church for blasphemous teachings that go against the teachings of the LDS faith. True, mainstream members of the LDS Church don't believe in the non-truths that were being taught by Chad and therefore distance themselves and their religion from Chad, Lori and Melanie G. Nothing unusual or new about that.....
The only reason she responded FINALLY was because the police called her and she was probably thinking how they said she would be in danger if they told her where the kids are - therefore thinking she may be next!
I would be worried about the grand parents if those 2 get out. Because of all of the "mysterious" deaths in that family and them being responsible for the investigation being started.
I think one reason people are so fascinated with this case is that you have 2 people that have not said a thing! It's quite unfathomable for a parent to even try to understand.

I wish they would have made mention of Nate Eaton of East Idaho News. I believe he was the one who really put the spotlight on the case, then everyone else jumped on board. Thank Goodness he did!
They did give Nate credit in the actual production and Keith did mention in this interview that a "colleague" was responsible for uncovering much of the information for his special. To have thanked Nate here would have let the cat out of the bag early and possibly lost some viewers (ie revenue).
I'm not fascinated!! I'm appalled, and the reason why we pay attention to these types of people, to understand there is people in our world who are like this, organizations. We must watch, so we can learn, be aware, be safe, and maybe save other children b4 it's too late
I'd say people are so fascinated by this story because 2 children have been murdered and people are intrigued and outraged that their own mother could do it to them. That's a very simple answer.

Great interview. Where the question was "what do you think the reason is why so many people are facinated by this story?| I can honestly say it's the kids. God didn't bless me with children but, I have a big family. I would have loved to have had Tylee and JJ as my kids. HIs big brother Colby is just married and he and his beautiful wife have a new daughter. Out of tragedy you see people in familes that just shine and rise above the others dirty selfishness. I pray for peace with JJ grandparents.
It's worthy of Shakespeare, a deep and twisted tragedy. It touches the darkest part of all of us like a great piece of literature played out in real life. Agamemnon sacrificed his daughter, etc.
We are fascinated in this case by Lori and Chad’s gall and we follow along in the hope that they will ultimately be held accountable for their actions. Human nature dislikes selfishness and parents who place themselves before their children to the point of harming their own children.

This lady was asking some super stupid questions of Keith and clearly did not do her homework prior to this interview. I'm surprised Keith continued for as long as he did, because I was like...."shut-up already"..... errrgh! 😖
I believe both Melanie s knew more than what their saying, and at this point ( for both of them), their going to try to save their own butt, whatever it takes,, especially Melanie G. She could possibly make lots of $$$ from this case, and I'm sure she knows that !!!

I think Kay Woodcock should save the video's where Charles Vallow tell's the police on 2 different occasion's that Lori has lost touch with reality and said to Charles that "he's no longer Charles, he is now Nick Schneider who used to live on earth but has died at some point and his dark spirit (zombie) took over Charles body and she would murder him or kill/have him killed" and he stressed just how worried he was for Tylee an JJ's well being. And he wasn't doing this because he had any animosity towards her, in fact he told them everytime he loves Lori to death and he wants to get her help. I'm sure they could definitely get something done on Charles and Tylee an JJ's behalf.Or one would hope something could be done even to get something put in place for the kids like if one of the parents claim something that makes a person think that the kids could end up in danger that they could be placed where their safe until both parents go through rigorous therapy/mental health sessions until they feel the parents are safe just a thought could be something different just saying if there was a program like that setup maybe just maybe Tylee an JJ would still be here.

The biggest punishment for Lori would be for her to wake up one day and realize what she's done and that she no longer has the sweet laughter and joy of her daughter, her best friend by her side. She'll crave death and find no relief.

Absolutely. Melani and her boyfriend David Warwick were RIGHT there in Idaho visiting Lori the weekend J.J. "disappeared" and the same weekend Lori told Melani J.J. had turned into a "zombie." Melani KNEW that Lori believed all of the "zombies" had to DIE. And she did NOTHING.
Jealousy, Lust, and Obsession was main factors of why they did it. Generally when parents divorce/separate they will fight for the children and put them in the middle like what Lori did. She used them as leverage to get money. She just couldn’t just go and find a real career, go thru the divorce, and move on without jealousy of Charles.
So many dead people in one case. I am sure Lori Vallow will speak up because the narcissist needs supply the attention will do her wonders she will blame Chad and Alex while playing the victim
Thank you to Keith Morrison for reminding us at the end of the program, that there is no closure. 'Closure' is such a commonly used word in cases where people lose their lives but indeed, there never really is any closure for those of us left behind. Having lost a number of wonderful and very close persons in my own life, I can speak from experience. The above case is a very disturbing portrait of lives lost for nothing, ultimately, and is very sad.
