I really really fell for rock n roll when I was 12, only 8 years ago. But still the journey since has been extensive. I never understood why Keith was so highly touted, until January this year, I don’t know what it was but I found his solo album talk is cheap and it just hit me like a truck, from there I listened to every stones album a thousand times and I’ve just been spellbound by everything Keith ever since. The personification of Rock n Roll

Well said my younger brother. Keith is definitely a highly amazing and talented artist. Love all his stuff. An all the stones stuff.

I used to think the same way man, like I never disliked him, but the fact that he was touted as like one of the all time great guitarist when he was in bands with great lead guitarist like mick Taylor and even Brian Jones, but I was just being dumb. He might not play lead guitar as well as Eric Clapton, but he’s not only a great riff writer but he’s actually essential. I think it says a lot about the guy that after Brian Jones, he didn’t just try to be like a solo guitarist with the stones, like a jimmy page or even Pete Townsend who as well is far from an Eric Clapton on lead, and again, he even brought in mick Taylor who was a literal virtuoso on the guitar.

@@worldview6218 I always liked the groove between Brian and Keith the best. Neither was a technical wizad but Keith himself talks about the "ancient art of weaving". Mick Taylor was a way better guitarist but quite frankly Keith wrote his best riffs in the Brian period. I am also convinced that Brian wrote the riffs that he played, and therefore was a more important "composer" than people give him credit for being. I leave the Stones controversies to the historians. I am more of a music theorist. I consider the classic Stones period to be their best, and of course that includes Keith's amazing riffs from that period.

Keith Richard's is my favorite Rolling Stone, my second favorite Stone is our late Charlie Watt's. Throughout Keith's career his exceptional showmanship and skill as a rythm guitarist has set him apart by far from most Rock and Roll artist. I think his songwriting skills are often overlooked and he deserves more credit and attention for his unique qualities as song Smith. One title bestowed upon Keith is the Riff Master, I couldn't agree more. As a fan of the Stones, I'm very grateful for all of Keith's experience and contribution to the ongoing success of this remarkable Rock and Roll band. Long Live Keith Richard's.

Been my favorite since I began diggin them.Keith my favorite hero and little of a role model(not so healthy all the time but it went well).Without Keith no Stones sound his playing is what gives them that uniqe sound. And his songwriting!!!And singin!!And his style, look in the 70's.He looked so cool. He's contributed more than what most people understand,to rockmusik in so many ways. And he was first with a cool "rockstar"look. And nowadays he's the Stone in best Shape.Heard him with the Winos(from this year),his playing And singing!Sounded like he was 30 years old.Yeah he's the man And Charlie so good And funny. You hear the difference in their concerts now without him!Not as good. The Stones have been much more important than they get Credit for.

Outstanding use & editing of 40's & 50's stock footage combined with covers of Stones music that is both pertinent & hilarious to the telling of this epic, charming, & bawdy tale of growing up in postwar Britain. The story is classic in the unfolding drama of an accomplished boy scout & cherubic choir boy who get's tossed into the crossroads of life which, when his voice breaks, marks his fall from establishment grace & the beginning of a new life as a fallen angel of the blues & rock music.

This is fascinating, really. I've never seen autobiographical material presented this artfully before. I'd be fascinated to know how much of that background footage came about like the couple dancing around the kitchen with the aprons, etc,. Probably just some stock footage from the BBC vault but the editors who put it together as artfully as they did certainly deserve much credit.

I think that now that The Stones are down to Mick and Keith, maybe they should get together and do an album of old blues songs more or less in the duo style of Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry... I think it would go down well for them.

hah! I really like the stones but I'll take howling wolf, muddy waters, Jimmy reed, little walter, Wilson Pickett, Bobby Womack, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Buddy holly any day of the week over those English boys. I can't stand to hear Mick Jagger ruin a good blues song. that man couldn't sing a good blues if his life depended on it.

Ever heard Keith sing Wild Horses, as compared to Mick Jagger in any time in the last 30 years or so? Even with Keith going out of tune in his rough-as-guts ripped up broken voice, it just sounds so much more authentic and real and worth listening to in some genuine musical way . . .
