Designed to reduce felt recoil due to the blowback design of the SUB-2000. The heavier charging handle slows down the blowback momentum and their by decreases the felt recoil. The factory charging handle weights 1oz and the KEL TEC SUB-2000 Recoilless Charging Handle weights 3.2ozs, effectively reducing felt recoil by 68%! MCARBO has taken a so so firearm and turned it into something legitimately useful. These guys have thought of ways to improve all those annoying problems that designers used in order to save money. I really think MCARBO should be selling a completely modified version of the rifle with their logo on it. Keltec would be wise to see MCARBO for what it can do to improving their weapons and partner with them. MCARBO puts out a new part and I'm throwing money at my computer screen!!

@@clange50 it is not one single part but the improvement overall you get with several of the parts working together. Adding 1 part only makes the next reliability issue appear. Much like a domino chain. The overall improvement of the entire kit and how it transforms the rifle from mediocre to down right serious reliability is huge.

I read the title as Non-reciprocating charging handle. This would accommodate KT's heavy bolt very nicely.

This company is great to deal with! I recently got a new gen2 s2k so I purchased the bolt tube cover, recoil buffer, and recoilless charging handle. The install of the recoilless charging handle was exactly as in the video except I couldn't get the bolt to reinstall properly! After some annoyance and research I had to push the hammer back slightly more with my pinky finger from the ejection port to get the bolt assy to go back in. This isn't shown in the video and seems to be a common problem, not a fault of mcarbo. Keep up the good work!

If the plastic end cap is an issue, why don't y'all make a metal one to replace it, or a more durable polymer blend? MCARBO seems to be a very forward thinking company that makes aftermarket parts galore for the Sub 2K. This would be another great addition.

Not only that, the AR-15 only uses a portion of the energy to unlock the bolt and move it rearward, while the sub2000, the bolt moves immediately upon ignition.

Love the idea as it will make the sub 2000 that much more fun to shoot. One note or concern rather regarding the buffer plans. I recently purchased a competitor buffer pad only to not choose to use it as it would not allow the stock to be placed in the first hole location. Meaning the stock had to be expected out to the further hole for it to fit. This makes the folded unit longer which was my concern as I wanted the smallest package size for fit in the custom case I created. Very interested in learning if your solution will have the same impact. Thanks for your continued efforts to create great products for the sub 2000.

Hi Chuck, great question. The custom molded rubber Recoil Buffer is designed to work on the shortest buttstock setting and reduce felt recoil. It will also allow you to lock the bolt to the rear without modification.

I'd like to see MCarbo,put out a hard sided case,to protect the Red Dot while in the folded position. I do like the MCarbo set-up,much better the MidWest,however the Side folding does have its issues,when it comes to protection of the Red Dot mount projection. You don't want to store it or lay anything on the folded side mount. Just saying

I noticed that another company makes a similar buffer and the Bolt lock will be disabled with that part. But a custom buffer tube would fix that issue.also a heaver Bolt would cut back the felt recoil drastically

The heavier bolt weights almost a pound. A lot more weight than necessary to slow the bolt down enough to reduce felt recoil. The new buffer we're making will allow you to lock the bolt and will last a long time. It's a custom molded rubber buffer.

Goddamnit - you guys are already getting orders out the door the same damn day and now you keep coming out with new stuff I have to buy! Are there any plans to make a two-finger version? I hate the one-finger charging handle. Also, I already have a buffer pad made by a different company - had to cut it down so I could lock the bolt open. Hopefully whatever you guys make is short enough to accomplish that.

I'm struggling to compress the recoil spring. If I unload any significant weight off the end, the coils are so tight I can't get the Allen wrench in to hold it in place. So frustrating!

Since the charging handle reciprocates i would think that adding more mass would increase the perceived recoil. Yet they're saying itll slow down the action and reduce it. Someone please explain this in depth

When will we see the two finger recoiless bolt handle? I know I could simply wrap my two finger handle with some lead, but that bad boy would certainly break fast and also would look and feel like crap.

I’m sure you are just flattering me and already have the design on the board waiting for demand. As a one off these things would cost $150 each and certainly wouldn’t be retail ready. If it becomes available I’m all in plus a couple other new updates I’m interested in, (that recoil buffer o ring is on my list for sure since I have almost everything else already).

I installed the recoil damper charge handle & noticed i am now getting stove pipes every 4 rounds. I did not break in my sub2K before adding this charge handle. Should i put it back to stock to break it in or should i just break it in with the heavier charge handle?

Of a bigger concern to me is the difficulty of cleaning this great little weapon. The trigger mechanizsm is a bugger to get out of the way when putting the bolt back in and lining up the jback pin is not easy at all. Now you want to add more in the rear tube to deal with. Come on guys the recoil is almost insignificant. We don't need more complications to deal with to keep the system operating cleanly.

Slightly longer dwell time added to suppressor higher back pressure might actually soften recoil on a suppressed blowback gun? Save the gun getting beat up a bit perhaps.

Everytime I try installing this it never stays in. I make sure its locked up in the slot but once I reassemble you can just pull it out if you try hard enough

Okay I'm a little confused on how this helps with recoil can someone help me out? Is it because the spring is rested directly up against the charging handle?

HongKongFuy1 Great question. It’s slows down the blowback operation of the bolt. The Charging Handle is directly connected to the bolt and adds enough weight to it to slow down the blowback momentum of the bolt when firing there by reducing Recoil in the process.

What's the possibility of making a hood to stop powder blow back in the face for left handed shooters. Try shooting a stock sub 2000 left handed and you'll see what I mean.

How does adding more mass to the moving piece cause less recoil? Isn't the issue that there is so much mass moving to begin with? I could see adding weight to the rest of the gun but it must be something counterintuitive

Adding mass to the bolt slows the bolts rearward velocity. This lowers the impact force if enough mass is added.

You people need to get into the hunting environment. You talk about recoil.... you need to get out in the real world was real country boys ranchers and farmers and shoot some of the stuff we have. That pistol caliber carbine? You will wonder if it even went off after you shot some of our normal daily stuff. A Muzzle brake..soft rubber butt pad recoil arrestors on a battlefield caliber? Most of those are not even powerful enough to shoot deer within many states and you're talking about recoil? Oh my gosh what is the world coming to.

The thing I can say to maybe shed a little light on it is that some of us shooters like guns that are cheap to shoot and we can just take out to the range for a little bbq beer and plinking. Adding these upgrades to make these low recoil guns shoot softer just makes the expirence smoother for people of all walks of life
