In a way yes, but this is how it starts, from amazement and sense of wonder. My favourite professors were like this, always full of ideas and questions to be answered. He should catch up with his science though, obviously.
As a nerd with a PhD in chemistry I find this offensive. An EM pulse *might* disrupt the battery and electrical connections but that has no effect on the motor (partly depending on the car).
well his intention is to disable a car, not destroy it and potentially harm the cops inside. good name though, I'm actually getting KFC for dinner tonight XD
Technology like this already exists and it doesn't cost a billion dollars. Still... I guess for an idea he had when he was a child it's not bad. But if you're driving down an alley why would you need some complex chemical/emp bomb, why not just have a spike strip to drop or caltrops to throw? There are so many other ways to stop a pursuing vehicle that can only travel in a straight line down an alley... [Ok, I just reread what I said and I can't believe he got me to waste my time on this. haha]
For the thrill...as he said. I really don't like how people immediately jump on the HATE TWILIGHT bandwagon...I don't know this guy and I've never seen him act, but I can guarantee that he does not deserve all this over analysis of his interview.
Would a EMP fry the battery? I thought only things like resisitors capasitors and shit like that fails during a emp. So like old ass cars would still work. (So the batteries are unaffected??)
